Ivanka Katrafilova Absolutely unforgettable! We celebrated New Year’s Eve and a 50th birthday here, and everything exceeded our expectations. The food was outstanding, every dish full of flavour, the staff were incredibly warm and attentive, and the atmosphere felt truly personal and special. They didn’t just host a celebration — they created a memory. Highly, highly recommended!

The Cock Inn - East Sussex

George Anderson Excellent pub, great British food done well. Great pint of Harvey’s and wonderful atmosphere. Exactly what was needed after a day walking in the South Downs. Was only in the area for a couple days but would make effort to revisit in the future.

Alex Lambert Both staff and food are gorgeous here. The food is sublime, children and adults both agreed, generous portions. Nothing is too much to ask and they made our daughter’s birthday really special. And don’t forget to order the Turkish Beyta Sarma, utterly delicious! We’ll be back soon..

The Anchor Inn & Boating - East Sussex

Rating: 4.1 /5
Carl Jeffrey The rural riverside setting is perfect for anyone who loves countryside walks or fancies hiring a rowing boat to explore the river. I was hiking solo on a multi-day trek from Brighton to Rochester when I came across the Anchor Inn. It was a warm early evening, and as I ordered a refreshing pint in the front bar, the landlord Simon (who had never met me before) immediately noticed my rucksack and said: “If you’re looking for somewhere to pitch your tent tonight, you’re very welcome to use the field behind the pub.” It was such a generous offer that I gladly accepted. I spent the evening enjoying a few pints in the company of Simon and his staff, who made me feel completely at home. I didn’t eat during my stay, though the food looked excellent, but I can vouch for a superb pint of Harvey’s Best Bitter. The following morning, as I was packing up at 8am, Simon even walked over with a cup of tea – an incredibly thoughtful gesture that summed up the hospitality I experienced here. I truly can’t thank Simon and his team enough. The Anchor Inn is a brilliant riverside pub, and I’ll definitely be returning with friends. Highly recommended!

Emma We pulled into the large car park, greeted by friendly staff. The tables are a decent size, which is a rarity nowadays. The children had lasagne, I had fish and chips and my husband has a burger. Portions are large but very tasty! The puddings come in regular or small sizes, in future I would go small, the regular were huge. We would definitely go back here and highly recommend.
lovage

LOVAGE - Haringey

Rating: 4.6 /5
Natalie A Had the most wonderful and relaxing afternoon with a friend at Lovage. Not only did the menu offer all your favourite brunch dishes with plenty of sweet and savoury options, but they were so aesthetically pleasing and presented perfectly. Really enjoyed the Lovage Pancake Breakfast, the Turkish Breakfast and the French Toast. There were plenty of fruity smoothies, mocktails and hot drinks to choose from. The service was warm, welcoming, and attentive. The staff checked in regularly to make sure we had everything we needed, and it was lovely to be able to unwind without feeling rushed. Would highly recommend as spot to visit for brunch and lunch and if you love taking photos - then its definitely an extra excuse to go!
