5 /5 Alexey Pechorin: Great and pleasant service, pleasant atmosphere, the food is great and portion size is large! The preparation takes a bit of time, so take it into account. I took the cat breakfast as I was pretty hungry, but in retrospect the kitten breakfast wouldve been better for me, finished pretty stuffed! Would definitely recommend and come back here :)

The vibe is unmistakably East London: mismatched furniture, zines on the shelves, and a steady hum of conversation from locals, artists, and activists alike. The menu is 100% vegan and refreshingly affordable. We tried the seitan burger and the lentil shepherd’s pie — both hearty, flavourful, and deeply satisfying. The portions are generous, and the desserts (especially the chocolate cake) are rich without being cloying. Everything is made with care, and you can taste the difference. There’s a strong DIY spirit here — from the rotating art on the walls to the community events and fundraisers. Staff are friendly and passionate, and the atmosphere is relaxed, welcoming, and quietly radical. Whether you’re vegan or just curious, Black Cat offers more than a meal — it’s a space to connect, reflect, and recharge.
