3 /5 Lauren Snow: Kave has the real potential to be a nice cafe - it is vegetarian and everything can be veganised which is really nice for a vegan looking for brunch options. They primarily do toasted sandwiches, waffles, smoothie bowls and coffees / drinks.
I went there today, and honestly it wasnt the best experience. The issue was really the customer service, which is non existent. The two staff acted as if it was their first day on Earth, or at least their first day staffing a cafe, and were seemingly shocked and awed by the mere requirement to provide a semblance of decent service. Ive never been to THIS cafe before, but I have been in many many cafes previously so I generally know how it will go. I went in, with my daughter, and decided to enquire if we should find a table ourselves. On approaching the till area, both serving staff immediately turned their backs on me. After several "Good afternoon"s and "Excuse me"s, one finally turned around and looked at me blankly until I asked about the seating. Fine - we found a seat, chose our food and I went back to start the order. I ordered avocado on toast, and upon enquiring about a drink, the reaction was as if Id asked for something incredibly outlandish and shocking despite it being an exact item on the menu - an iced chai latte. Regardless the items eventually turned up - the iced chai latte being a warm one filled with ice cubes... And the avocado toast being the tiniest avocado toast Ive seen recently, and smothered in pumpkin seeds.
I find it unlikely that my return is imminent.
