Andrew Fung My first visit but definitely not my last. What a terrific spot! Bar Levan has that hard to place quality that makes a place special - a magic mix of food, drink, staff and atmosphere all done really, really well. If youre looking for a great place to eat, drink and relax just off off Rye Lane then I highly recommend!

The Prince of Wales, A Heartwood Inn - Barnet

Rating: 4.3 /5
Graham Burke We had an exceptional evening at the Prince of Wales in East Barnet Village. We visited to take advantage of the 50% off mains January deal, but the quality was so high we would have happily paid full price. The service here is world class. We met Rory, the manager, who was outstanding. His passion for the food is infectious; he explained the prep and sourcing of the dishes so well it made our mouths water before we even ordered! Our waiter (whose name we missed) was equally professional and friendly - the whole team is clearly focused on making sure you leave happy. The food is "art on a plate" stunningly presented, hot, and delicious. We shared the crab starter, which was fresh and beautifully plated. For mains, the Pheasant Supreme and Chicken Ballotine were both flavourful and perfectly cooked. We finished with the Baked Alaska, which they set on fire at the table! The portions were huge, even when shared. Rory’s description of the Sunday Roast prep has already convinced us to book a return visit. Highly recommended!

C&O Turkish Restaurant - Berkshire

Rating: 4.9 /5
Rehan Siddiqui On Friday 23rd January, we went for dinner at C&O Turkish Restaurant just off Peascod Street in Windsor. I had already called ahead to ensure all of the meat served was halal including the steaks! It was fairly quiet around 8:30pm, with only a couple of tables occupied, but we were attended to immediately. Drinks and starters were taken straight away and we opted for a simple hummus to begin. For mains, I had a beautiful lamb kleftiko – a lamb shank served with vegetables and mashed potato in a herby tomato sauce – and it was genuinely one of the best I’ve had. My wife chose the lamb adana kebab, and my daughter had the chicken wings. Everyone agreed the food was really good and clearly cooked with care. You could tell the team were making a real effort with service. The only slight distraction was a customer at the table in front repeatedly complaining about chewing gum under her table – one of those things better handled discreetly (by the customer), as not everyone needs to hear it. We had the pleasure of meeting the lovely owner, Jihan, who came over to chat with us. When I asked for mint sauce with my lamb shank, Jihan actually sent someone to a local shop to get some – that, for me, is outstanding customer service. To finish, my wife and daughter were offered complimentary Turkish tea and a fruit tea, which was a really nice touch. This is a wonderful addition to the two other Turkish restaurants already in Windsor, but I’d say the food here was better – which means we’ll definitely be back.
