Tia Fattal I will start with wow! Sometimes you stumble across a little diamond in the rough. Drift is that! I have been blessed with having the chance of eating in some amazing restaurants from the Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons to the Burj Khalifa. But these places are diamonds that the world can see. The drift is still hidden tucked away in a little sea side town. A little secret where its food does all the shining. A visit is a must, tuck yourself into this family run restaurant, and be prepared for the dishes to wow you. From the oysters to the backed cheesecake everything fresh and handled by the chef with grace and care. You will love it!
marrakech delight

Marrakech Delight -

Rating: 4.5 /5
Ashleigh This place was absolutely lovely. We were visiting family and this place was close enough to visit as I wanted some authentic food from a tagine. It was about two minute walk from the bus station. Upon arrival we noticed how bright and lively the decor was. We walked in and had the option to sit where we wanted, so we took a seat in the back to avoid feeling any cold air from outside as customers left. We ended up sitting next to the restrooms, luckily they were fairly clean although there was no napkins in the women’s room. The waiter gave us time and asked us what we’d like to drink, we decided on tea, I asked for unsweetened and regretted it, but it was still nice, we added sugar and fixed it right up. After a while he came back and asked what we would like to order. We started with an appetizer, the Marrakech traditional mezzo. It was beautiful! Olives, hummus, yogurt mint dip, a fajita tasting veggie dip, another one I don’t remember but it was fantastic, sausages(veggie, and a lamb), falafel, and loads of warm pita. We dug in and probably could have had that for a meal alone. But we decided to pig out and enjoyed ourselves. After a while the waiter came back and asked what we wanted to order. I ordered the chicken and olive tagine with bread and my other half ordered a fish tagine with couscous. They arrive quickly and pipping hot! It was beautiful, I’d never had a tagine before and the presentation was cool. He only lifted the lids for us but it was fun! I don’t know what sauce was on that chicken but it was fantastic! I could eat a bowl of the sauce and olives with the bread anytime. The chicken was great also, very tender, fell right off the bone! The fish fish was very pretty but it wasn’t as good as the chicken, well to me at least. Needless to say I finished it with a smile. We were probably at the restaurant for a hour and a half. They stayed busy but not overly busy, some people ordered take away. They offered dessert too but we were stuffed so we got the check and went onto our next adventure. The price was fair also. Pretty much what we’d pay at home for a meal like that. We’ll be back on our next trip to the UK. It’s locked into my google maps!
whittingtons tea barge

Whittingtons Tea Barge - Berkshire

Rating: 4.7 /5
suki ng Whittington Tea Barge is very popular among people in Reading, and after joining their monthly 2-hour river cruise I can see why it has such a good reputation. The whole experience felt very special. The weather was warm and not windy, which made it perfect for cruising along the River Thames. With only 12 people on board, it was calm, friendly, and never crowded — a very personal experience compared to bigger boat trips. At the time of boarding, I was served the tea set. The handmade scones were fresh and delicious, and the service was good and welcoming throughout. The tea set also included sandwiches, desserts, and a choice of coffee or tea — all well prepared, nicely presented, and filling. It felt like the perfect balance between a traditional English tea and a relaxed river journey. Afterwards, I went up to the top deck. If the weather is good, I highly recommend sitting outside — the views of the River Thames are absolutely amazing and it is such a peaceful way to spend the afternoon. The whole cruise was very well organised, with enough time to enjoy both the food and the scenery without feeling rushed. For future visitors, it’s worth knowing that the river cruise only runs once a month and you need to reserve in advance as spaces are limited. On normal weekends, the barge stays in its usual spot on the river and serves a special weekend menu, so you can still enjoy eating on the boat even if there is no cruise that day. Overall, this was a wonderful and memorable experience — great food, friendly service, and beautiful river views. A lovely way to spend a couple of hours by the water in Reading. Highly recommended!

Chihiro ITO Its an easy place to go even by yourself. The staff take your order politely, and since they make it right there, the food comes out pretty quickly. It’s also super close to Euston Station, so its great spot to stop by before catching your train.
