4 /5 Julian Balling: We visited Nessa for the Pre-Theatre menu (£27 for 3 courses), which offered excellent value. Both the exterior and interior are stunning—very classy and quintessentially British. The staff were friendly and incredibly accommodating throughout. Regarding the food: the starters were good, though the mushroom ravioli was a bit oily for our taste. For sides, the fries were solid, but the chargrilled broccoli was quite unique and perhaps not something we would order again. The highlight was the sticky toffee pudding. The ice cream however was crystallized. Overall, a very pleasant experience and a beautiful venue, though we would likely try different menu options on a return visit. 4/5.

5 /5 will knock: We were seated straight away and I explained that we only had an hour and a quarter for dinner, we were ensured that wasnt an issue and she would make sure things came out promptly. The menu isnt huge, which usually means the restaurant has taken care to do a few things very well, but the food was amazing. The steak tartare and salmon tartare were delicious, and we both had a fish dish for mains which were equally as tasty, cooked and seasoned to perfection. Sticky toffee pudding and trifle for dessert didnt disappoint. Excellent service, very reasonable prices, and we were out on time without anything feeling rushed. We would have gone back for breakfast the next day had we not already booked somewhere else, but we will be back!

3 /5 Louisa: Had a mixed experience when I came here with a friend last Tuesday. The Front of House greeted us warmly and the restaurant was beautiful and cosy - perfect for a winters evening. The starters we ordered were terrific, the croquettes were wonderfully moorish and a beautiful contrast between soft and crispy. The beetroot salad was a delicious combination of flavours fromightness of the figs and squash to the creamy sheeps cheese. So we were looking forward to the mains which unfortunately were a different level. I had ordered the smoked salmon tartare for a light dinner whilst my friend ordered the chicken large plate. The smoked salmon tartare was okay, but the chicken was overcooked and tough. The flavour profiles of either dish were nothing to write home about. I was also unimpressed with the waiting staff in the back room. The woman dressed in a suit (possibly a manager?) was very much on it, however the younger male wait staff were incredibly hard to get hold of and despite trying to catch our waiter, or any waiters eye for quite some time to get the bill, eventually I just had to get up and grab someone. I can see why it would be a highly rated place, but our experience left us a little disappointed as we had been looking forward to trying it out.

5 /5 Theodora Dimitropoulos: In November, during a visit to London, we made a last-minute reservation on a Tuesday evening and were seated within twenty minutes. A promising start. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed: our coats were neatly taken, we were graciously guided to our table. These first details immediately set a tone of quiet elegance and genuine hospitality. The host’s recommendations were honest and well-judged, which we greatly appreciated. We came in search of authentic British cooking and were not disappointed. The Aged Beef Rump Tartare with charred seeded loaf and confit egg was utterly divine. The Beetroot & Fig Salad was beautifully balanced, earthy, fresh, and deeply appealing, while the Fennel Citrus Salad was so good it has since become a dish I recreate at home. The Roast Rump of West Country Lamb was outstanding: tender, flavoursome, and perfectly cooked. The only dish that failed to impress was the Celeriac Carbonara, which unfortunately tasted slightly chemical and lacked the warmth present elsewhere on the menu. Dessert, however, was a triumph. The Cherry Bakewell, with almond frosting and caramelised pecans, was simply irresistible.. comforting, refined, and worth waking up for! A thoughtful birthday candle added a personal touch, and the cocktails.. especially the grapefruit, were superb. A memorable dining experience defined by thoughtful service, respect for tradition, and food prepared with confidence and care!

3 /5 Laura Kirwan: Croquettes, Sticky Toffee Pudding and Soda Bread were fab. Interior, staff were lovely and atmosphere were really cute. Mains were disappointing - carbonara was weird and ravioli looked bad and just tasted like burnt butter, very little mushroom taste. Would recommend the restaurant but not those dishes.
