5 /5 Patrick Hall: Awesome!
If you want a delicious taste of Asia then this is a gem right in Tonbridge!
They offer lots of different sushi options (vegetarian included), and have a build your own lunch of protein+sauce+rice/noodles = delicious!
Its obviously not as cheap as a Greggs £1 sausage roll, but its in line with a Pret/Costa and is carefully handmade food in a very nice restaurant.
Check it out!
2025 update: just had lunch here again and so so good! Friendly staff and lovely food, good vegan options.
5 /5 Yamuna Mhrjn: Amazing food with amazing people. We have been there from London to enjoy the sushi, will be there soon again. ❤️ And the Tempura is my best.
3 /5 Zoe Tammadge: I ordered original Bubble tea with pearls, mixed dim sum and salmon and cheese mini roll. The bubble tea was nice, the pearls were perfect and the tea wasnt too sweet. The mini rolls were tasty and and salmon was fresh. The mixed dimsum is where Niihaw looses points. Im quite disappointed as online it says Shaomai and harkaw are included in the mixed dimsum meal but all the pieces looked and tasted the same. I really wanted the shaomai and I didnt get any. The place is small but loads of seating areas. Theres lovely art work and the seats are comfortable. I didnt see a restroom and you have to order and pay at the counter.
5 /5 ady: Had the chicken katsu ramen here. Comforting, hearty, and full of flavour. The broth was rich without being heavy, the chicken crispy and tender, and the noodles perfectly cooked. It felt like proper homemade comfort food. The staff were warm, polite, and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. A cosy, underrated spot worth returning to.
Drumlin Food from a chains central kitchen can be a disaster - I still grieve over Cafe Rouge. BUT, Basil is different. I had the quiche with an antipasta salad. Both were exeptional, to the point that I think that the quiche is the best I have ever eaten. The service was also exceptional being very helpful and very friendly. The shop is clean and warm looking so our lunchtime exceeded expectations in all dimensions. Well done Tonbridge Basil.
David Kelly We initially came here after a disastrous trip to Tunbridge Wells where the water failed, and to be honest, we didnt know what to expect from it at all.
All I can say is that we were blown away. The food is absolutely superb, you can tell that everything is cooked freshly and not re-heated, everything tasted absolutely fantastic and was delivered very quickly and by a very friendly team of staff who are lovely.
The real shock came when we got the bill: this place must represent the best value for money I have ever experienced in a Chinese restaurant, everything is priced extremely competitively whilst not compromising on quality in any aspect.
We arent local, but we will definitely be back. A huge thank you for turning what couldve been a tricky situation into a very enjoyable evening.
Fay Hamilton Nice little cafe.. we visited on Christmas Eve, so not much of a selection available.. but what was on offer, was lovely! Plenty of seating. Clean facilities. Nearest parking would be Sainsburys car park.
