5 /5 Grace Salt: I absolutely LOVE the Sylvan post for a top quality roast, and I regularly bring different friends/family here when I need my fix! Lovely decor and atmosphere, it can be a bit noisy on a Sunday but thats because its clearly quite popular!

I hope chef/cook know that her/his/their cooking is unique, good quality and always the correct portion. Staff are very nice too. I always feel comfy and welcome there. 4 /5 Mark Milaszkiewicz: The food was amazing. I can’t fault that at all. Steak cooked as I ordered. Bar service brilliant too, reasonable selection of beers including a Yorkshire Lager “Madri”. One cask, a few indie beers too, and Portobello who the place is tied to. Slightly slow at clearing the plates after food service. Music actually too quiet as the pub got busier.

5 /5 Carr John (Corinne and John): Very good Portobello pub in a former post office about five minutes walk from Forest Hill Railway Station. Two cask beers on handpump when I visited. Lots of outdoor seating at the front. The pub retains many of the original features from the post office including the two strongrooms which have been converted into small booths.

5 /5 S F: Best pub in the area! Old converted post office so amazing vaults for seating in the back. Friendly staff, great beer selection including non-alcoholic options. Fun pub quiz and good for big sport games too. Large outdoor seating area out the front. Love this place.
