Andy Shearman Just returned from a 3 night stay. Ideally positioned to explore a lovely old character English town. Paul and his staff are very friendly and approachable, nothing was too much trouble. Food was delicious, from the breakfast to lunch and the Sunday roast. Shout out to the chefs. Will definitely return if just for the kind hospitality all staff showed during our stay.

James Mould I visited in April 2024 for lunch and a few beers. The pub is a very traditional building with a comfy vibe. The furniture has that time served patina that cannot be faked. Theres no music, no gaming machines, and no TVs. A proper pub that has a relaxing atmosphere which encourages conversation. The Landlady, Sam, is so welcoming that you soon feel like youve known her for ages! Theres a good range of reasonably priced food should you choose to eat as well. Ill be back!

Natasha Ng It was quiet when we visited so service was fast. Loved all the dishes we tried, flavours were on point (not too gamy). Nice interior atmosphere as well, would love to come back and try other dishes next time in Milton Keynes!

Nigel Allery Wonderful meal. As ever. Different with the alcohol free Cobras but meal for three under £100 and I could drive home! Cobra free really hits the spot! And the zero red wine too. Great value. Great food and experience. See you soon team!

Erin Stringer I have just had the most wonderful birthday evening with my partner here. We ended up coming here on a whim, purely by spotting it was new to the area - it was fantastic!! We had starters, usual small plates but with an addition of octopus that was so delicious and meaty. We both decided to get a steak due to how unbelievably priced it was - wow it didn’t disappoint. I appreciate everyone’s price points are different but for a special evening out this was 10’s across the board for us. The wine was great, the service was lovely & Alex specifically was a delight - she ensured we didn’t leave without a birthday treat on the house. Arguably the most important aspect, as a severe peanut allergy sufferer, I felt completely reassured with their handling and approach to catering for this - something not all restaurants do well, but makes such a difference to the evening. We will be suggesting this to our friends and we will be back - to try the cocktails!! Thanks again

Ben Hawkins The service makes this place . Jacks service was incredible tonight, focussed, and mindful of the customers needs. The lady and guy behind the bar were also very switched on and helpful. Id certainly give them a pay rise ember inns... place is heaving and they never crack under pressure. Real teamwork Ben 27/01/26
