H L-J Ive been eating at Afghan Flavours, Reading for circa 18 months now. I was introduced by my sisters friend and have kept coming back on my own, with a my sister or in small groups. Its very reliable, tasty, fresh and hot food. Family friendly. Very reasonably priced for the quality and freshness. You can see the kitchen from the counter too. Other reviews mentioning service speed need to show some patience. Freshly cooked and prepared food takes time and this is an increasingly popular establishment. I would describe as cafe style eating. Whether its the Channa Daal, Houmous, halloumi, chicken byriani, Qabuli chicken/lamb, chicken/lamb charsi karahi, Afghan style red kidney beans, Chaplin kebab paties, chicken or lamb or mixed tikka or lamb kofta - I recommend all. For drinks would recommend mint or green tea (loose tea) or mango lassi (glass or jug) or a fresh juice. I prefer to eat in, but take away is also available. A friendly and hardworking team. Rose Yemelyanova I love this place... they have a great selection of food including Dosas and starters. Havent tried their biryanis yet but so far i am very impressed! Personally i think their masala chai is a bit meh, just tastes like black tea, but other than that i cant fault the service, the atmosphere or the food at all. Really lovely flavours, good price.

Laetitia Lemoine Very busy with place but it is by far the best café in Reading. Homemade food, lovely coffee. I had a Tuna Turner with a pot of tea (Photo) and a decaf latte and a cinnamon bun for pudding. This is going to be my go-to café. I have taken some friends today with me and they have loved it. They want to go back too!!

Paul Davey What a friendly atmosphere! The staff were brilliant. Sister Wish made me feel so welcome during Iftar! I had Nihari which was cooked to perfection….thick gravy,no oil….just beautiful and bursting with flavour! The portion size was huge! Wish also made the best Karak Chai! I’m definitely looking forward to making this one a regular of mine!

Marta Parciany Tasty, quick food. Always welcome with a smile of a staff member or a manager. Always fast and nice service. The management always makes sure everything is fine. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend.
