5 /5 Brady Brady: We visited May 21, 2025. Thanks to some recommendations by locals via a Canterbury citizens Facebook page, we were pleased to have visited the The Goods Shed. We got to try free samples of some wonderful cheeses, before sitting outside to eat our purchases of cheese and cider. Its a really fun place.

5 /5 roselie lopez: It was the best surprise in Canterbury. In an upper wing of the organic produce market, there is an excellent restaurant. From the moment we arrived, they were extremely attentive and helpful. The kitchen is semi-open, so you can watch the chef and his team at work. My husband and I opted for fish, different types and preparations, but both were delicious. Creamy, fresh, naturally made with organic, top-quality ingredients. For dessert, we ordered the crumble, and honestly, it was one of the most delicious crumbles I have ever tasted, and the cream was delicious. They have an excellent wine and whisky list. I definitely recommend it, and in fact, I hope to return soon.

5 /5 Sani Ario: Don’t let the multi-vendor “shed” fool you. This is top notch British cooking with smart service. Our John dory was a silky, smooth delicate plate of goodness, accompanied with the most balanced unobtrusive sauce; and the lamb saddle was as tasty as ever, with perfectly cooked carrots and beetroot. Quality and care is a staple here, exemplifying local produce. The team clicks and seamlessly move around the elevated platform with cheerfulness. This was a pleasant surprise lunch for us while visiting Canterbury. Would come back just for another Michelin level lunch here. Keep going, team Goods Shed.

5 /5 Humayun Rashid: The Goods Shed was recommended by TimeOut, so I encouraged my wife and son to make the trek across Canterbury from where we’d parked to the other side by the station. I’m so glad we did. Walking in, we were pleasantly surprised by the bustling atmosphere: an artisan deli, coffee shop, fishmongers and butchers below, with the restaurant perched above it all. It immediately felt like a unique dining experience. We browsed the menu, and although the prices initially seemed a little high, my wife pointed out that since we’d come all this way, we should make the most of it. And she was right. Our meal began with slices of Baddlesmere loaf and salted butter – our 4-year-old polished off the lot without hesitation! Starters arrived soon after. My wife ordered trout and devoured it so quickly I didn’t get the chance to try a forkful. My main course of sole arrived last, smothered in butter and herbs. Despite insisting she was full, my wife couldn’t resist taking some from my plate. It was absolutely divine and worth waiting for. Our son finished with sticky toffee pudding and ice cream, and it genuinely ranks among the best we’ve tried. The service throughout was warm and personal, and the relaxed atmosphere made for a really enjoyable lunch. A highlight for our son was seeing a Pullman train roll past outside the window – a lovely surprise. All three of us agreed that The Goods Shed was a real hit, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. A memorable meal in a unique setting – well worth seeking out.

5 /5 Tom Mistry: The Goods Shed in Canterbury is a fantastic place with such a great atmosphere. I first visited during the day market and picked up some delicious chilli jam, which was a real highlight. Later, I came back for dinner and was blown away by the food – amazing fish, beautifully cooked venison, and a sumptuous sticky toffee pudding to finish. The cocktails were excellent too. It’s lovely to experience both sides of the place, from the vibrant market to the relaxed restaurant. A real gem and well worth visiting.
