4 /5 Rae Zachary: Business dinner at The Ivy and my first time here. The restaurant is unique with its garden Theme.
We all ordered our own starters and the whiskey barrel smoked salmon was the most popular selection, presented with a glass dome of smoke which wafted up when the dome was taken off. The smoked salmon was delicious served with the dark eye bread.
For entrées the most popular was the tradional Shepard pie, one had the blackened cod and a few had the sirloin steak. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The steak was tender and cooked to perfection. The shepherds pies looked beautiful with the piped mashed potatoes toasted on top.
Desserts were varied with the creme brulee being the majority choice, served flaming.
The restaurant was a bit noisy making conversation with people not next to you difficult, but overall a unique place to dine. The staff were all friendly and helpful with menu selections. Bonus, it was a short walk back to our hotel.
Definitely recommend.
