5 /5 Edward Katia “Katie”: I was invited there for dinner by my daughter, and we went together. From the outside the location isn’t particularly striking, but once you step inside it’s a completely different world. You enter through a narrow little passage and a small door, only to discover a spacious and beautiful interior — a wine bar, great food, a lovely atmosphere, excellent service, and friendly staff. I enjoyed the place immensely.

4 /5 Alice Gee: Service was good. There seemed to be a lot of first dates at surrounding tables on a Friday night. Tables not too close together, comfortable level of light and no music. Just the sound of conversation and clinking tableware. We ordered the cheapest bottle of red at £36.20 which was not worth the money. Too acidic for my taste and otherwise lacking in personality. My companion liked his starter of aubergine terrine redolent with cumin. My crispy cauliflower was okay but a little greasy. Nice and tender though. We both got the lamb burger as main. I ordered as rare as health and safety regulations would allow, but was informed I would be getting it well done. When it arrived I was happy to see it was still pink inside so more a medium. My companion loved the fries but I found them a little greasy on the outside and too firm on the inside. Definitely not double or triple cooked.

5 /5 Carlos Fonseca: Impressive selection of wines, so an ideal place to visit if you want to experience different bottles with friends. You can go around and browse their selection from the shelves and by to take home. Worth keeping in mind that on Mondays the bottles are very discounted, so worth a visit. The food was very good as well. I loved the lava cake with ice cream.

4 /5 C-Reviews: A nice wine bar option! The food is hit and miss. The prawns - I loved, they were the best small plate I tasted by far. But the fries were luke warm, solid and not great at all. Also wasn’t a fan of the pork belly which was quite dry instead of juicy. Service is not ideal, have to call for someone’s attention and also couldn’t get the bill so paid by Sunday app which doesn’t accept Amex. Then leaving on the door there’s an Amex sticker… High service charge was also added on the bill + charity contributions. Overall, I would return for the nice selection of wines and ambience - I’d just pick my plates more carefully!

2 /5 Chloe Morton: I was really disappointed with our visit. I went with my partner and a few friends after work on a Wednesday, having chosen this restaurant specifically because I have some food intolerances. I’d checked beforehand and read that they were good at handling gluten and lactose intolerances, which made it seem like a safe choice. Unfortunately, the service let the evening down. From the start, it felt like any request - even for water or to place our order - was a major inconvenience. I asked for the allergen menu as soon as we arrived (something I had seen mentioned in reviews), but it never came. When I followed up, the waiter rolled his eyes. When I explained I had intolerances, he rolled his eyes again, which made me feel really small and uncomfortable. I always try to be polite and accommodating about my dietary needs, so this reaction felt especially disheartening. When my meal arrived (the hot beef cheeks), it was unfortunately cold and overcooked. On a positive note, my friends said their dishes were lovely - especially the cauliflower, which everyone raved about. The rest of the mains (steak, chicken roulade, and chicken burgers) were all enjoyed as well. It is sad because it really overshadowed some nice mains. Everyone at the table felt embarrassed at the service and wanted to leave as soon as possible because of how unwelcoming the server was to me - mortifying! I also requested some gluten-free bread, which was delicious. However, when our waiter returned (after a long gap - around 30 minutes), he seemed annoyed that I’d asked another staff member for it and rolled his eyes again. Later, when he brought the dessert menu, he returned less than a minute later asking if we were ready to order, which just added to the awkwardness. In the end, the whole table felt uncomfortable because of his attitude - especially with how he treated me. Overall, while the restaurant’s understanding of allergies and intolerances is good in theory, the way the situation was handled by staff was very disappointing. I left feeling belittled and like I was an inconvenience, despite going out of my way to be considerate and choose dishes I knew were safe. Very sad as I have heard positive things from friends. I hate complaining and I never leave negative reviews (this is my first one) but I felt so upset from the evening I had to say something. Will not be returning.
