Basil and Co Ristorante Italiano - (Near Kent, South East)

Angela Bennett Today, for the fifth year running we had our usual Pre-Christmas lunch at the Tudor tearooms in Whitstable. We like to try and visit as often as we can because the food is always so good, the staff are so friendly and the atmosphere is calm and cosy. Today was the last day of the Christmas menu and, as ever, it was the closest to our own Christmas Day meal as we have ever had. There were four of us, at the last sitting (2pm) and all of us had the (turkey and all the trimmings main course. Three os had the prawn cocktail which is exactly what we have at home, very often as a first course to a Sunday roast and always on Christmas Day. Served with brown bread and butter it was generous helping. The turkey roadtbwasbscrumptiousvwith four veg and extra gravy was available sausagemeat stuffing together with a largebsdd as usage wrapped in bacon were tasty accompaniments. Two of us had Christmas pudding with delicious custard and well made pudding it was. Again, I don’t eat Christmas pudding anywhere else as we make our own Christmas puddings to an old traditional family recipe so other than the Tudor tearooms no other comes even close! One of our group had the cheesecake and especially loved the shards of stem ginger, whilst the other had the black forest dessert which she said was delicious. A small glass of mulled wine started the lovely meal admirably. Wonderful usual, looking forward to next year - our Christmas starts with this visit where we always take a group photo on the beach! I’m already looking forward to my next visit and midweek roast dinner!

Julie-Anne Clements I booked a table upstairs for Sunday lunch over the bank holiday weekend for 5 ladies celebrating a birthday. The food was fantastic, it came out quickly, was beautifully cooked and the presentation was great. 4 of us had the roast beef and 1 had the roasted butternut squash and we shared side dishes of cauliflower cheese. All of the food was outstanding. The staff were lovely, really friendly and attentive. We also enjoyed the music playing, the decor and general atmosphere. We are not local and were staying in the area and had booked The Rock Lodge based on a Google and Trip Advisor search. We highly recommend this restaurant and would definitely visit again when in the area.

Agnieszka Donanska Great little café with delicious food and fantastic service. The sandwiches are amazing and the arancini taste just like in Italy. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. I can’t wait to come back again!

Sona Sethi Best Thai ever and catered for mum who doesn’t have peanuts and me and who’s gluten intolerant and I would always go back to have their tasty food, they can modify anything and they are super helpful when it comes to wanting more or less chilli - amazing service and just a genuinely lovely place! Glyn Pettit Love this Spoons the decor is fantastic and no expense spared on the interior design of this former picture house. Named after Peter Cushing the film actor who for a time lived close by in Whitstable.

Jennifer Parker Sensational! Quality ingredients, cooked well. We had lunch, lovely quiche, chicken and mushroom pie and the side salad is a selection of home made delicious salads - not the usual few lettuce leaves and tomatoes. Will be back!
