Best Western Ship Hotel - (Near , South East)

1 /5 Joana: Really awful customer experience. I’ve booked a room but unfortunately due to health reasons and being pregnant could not make the trip down (from Scotland). My room was apparently not cancellable, which I didn’t see when I booked it - so my bad! But wow, no understanding whatsoever for the situation even when I gave a lot of notice, and I was not allowed to have someone else going in my place (which I had!). Really awful experience, they just want your money, please avoid. It’s really sad when situations like this show how people have no principles. Pick a place that shows kindness and humanity, not a cold business like this that will make money off empty and double booked rooms. *Also worth noting that I’ve asked multiple times for a cancellation charge, which I think would be a good way to meet in the middle, but got no answer.

3 /5 nicola wilyeo: I booked The Ship for food for my party of six. We had been to Brooklands museum for hubbys 60th. The restaurant where we were seated was lovely, only us in there. We all had starters which were great, then the mains came !! I ordered the ribs, I ate 1 rib and cut into next rib and then all the oil and grease seeped out from under ribs. Making it no good for me to eat. Its actually made ne extremely poorly since leaving yesterday with chronic sickness. I was asked why hadnt eaten them, so I explained Lady just shrugged shoulders and said "ohh OK, they can be juicey" This wasnt juice from ribs, it was grease as was very shiny.. I was not even offered refund on bill for my ribs, as couldnt eat any of my dinner. Sadly it spoilt what had been a great day.

2 /5 Caitlin Hirst: Stayed here a couple weeks ago to attend a concert with my friend and her family. On face value the hotel is lovely. I had no issues with the room - it was clean and spacious and the amenities were perfect. However we had a strange experience in the night. After the concert me and two others communed in the courtyard for a cigarette before bed. The courtyard is lovely with seating and fairy lights and ash trays so very inviting and it wasn’t closed off or anything. However after 5 minutes of being out there a staff member came out and told us to be quiet. Me and the others I was with apologised and stated that we would whisper from here on out as we are understanding of it being a hotel. We thought there would be no further issues as we had politely responded that we would be quiet (not that we were particularly loud anyway?) and we spent the next 10 minutes whispering instead of talking. We were then met with another younger gentleman staff member who told us not to talk at all!!! This baffled me as if we aren’t allowed to talk in the courtyard close it off at night? I feel the need to input that none of us had drunk any alcohol that night and we’re all quiet tired tbh so I know that we were not close to being rowdy or even loud at all really. This second guy was not as nice as the first and came across as patronising and as though he was trying to intimidate us. He asked for our room numbers which we did not give the correct one over as he genuinely made us feel like he was gonna charge us for talking! When I responded that we would sit in silence he then questioned me and gave back a sarcastic response. His attitude was not great and me and the others were not happy. After this experience I went to the trouble of reading the hotel reviews to see if there was any complaints about noise in the courtyard which there wasn’t a single one! If you don’t want people in there at night why not close it. I have never at any hotel ever experienced essentially being told to shut up during a stay whilst being perfectly respectful outside. I felt really uncomfortable from here on out and we rushed back to our rooms after this. Glad it was only one night here.

5 /5 Dawn Rolph: We had our wedding at The Ship in Weybridge in September 2025. Really lovely venue, Sarah the manager is an exceptional planner and does not overlook details. All the hotel team are courteous and very helpful, they certainly made our day go so well. All our guests have said they had a fantastic day. The wedding breakfast was well cooked and presented beautifully. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who doesnt have a vast wedding budget. Ceremony room looked lovely, as did the dining tables. The hotel is so convenient to the town centre for anyone staying. Beds are comfy, although a little hot if you are in a non aircon room. That was the only tinsy downside, everything else was perfect, thank you Ship Hotel !

2 /5 Ela Fiszer-Watson: Edit after venue responded to my review: What a ridiculous response, showing furthermore the lack of any customer service by the manager. I gave you two stars overall, 1 for service and your response to my complaint about food and maintenance man walking into my room when I was sleeping is - we hope to see you soon again. Wow, just wow.... ----- Good value for money, especially at that location. There was plenty enough parking spaces when I arrived, you need to pay £10 to pay overnight at reception which is pretty standard. The receptionist was nice and helpful when I arrived, restaurant staff also very friendly and polite. Room was tidy and clean and spacious, with plenty of tea / coffee /sugar. There is a hairdryer as well in the room. I had a room booked for 2ppl (I only arrived on my own after all), however there was only one set of towels in the bathroom, might be worth making sure with cleaning staff they always have updated pax numbers for the next booking, so when there are more people in the room for the night, they dont have to call reception to ask for more towels. Restaurant food is not best, had a pulled pork burger with chips and chips were still cold inside (as if they were frozen and didnt fully cook inside) and pulled pork had far too much chewy fat parts for my liking). Id recommend trying other dishes or dining out. Sadly, at 9am I got woken up by a maintenance guy walking into my room! I locked my room for the night, he must have had a master key that opens it up anyway. It was a very scary experience. Receptionist /manager claimed it was a glitch in their IT system that showed my room vacant, but thats just not good enough. As a single woman travelling for work, this ruined my stay and unfortunately my good to start with opinion of the hotel. Id also say, that maybe a free breakfast as an apology would have been a good move to show the customer service and care, but manager only blamed it on the system and offered no further compensation / resolution. Overall, an okay stay for good value in decent location with some hiccups.
