Betsutenjin Ramen Sutton - (Near Sutton, South East)

5 /5 Aliyev Araz (arazmed): I haven’t been to Japan, so I can’t compare its authenticity, but I can say it was better than any other ramen I’ve had before. The staff were very attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. I visited twice and was very satisfied both times. I hope they add more options to the menu. Wishing them success as a new business.

5 /5 Iris Lau: Betsutenjin is currently in its soft opening period, so they only have two ramen options on the menu. I tried the Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen, and the broth was incredibly rich and absolutely delicious - it might just be the best tonkotsu ramen Ive had in London so far! I especially appreciated the free barley tea and the spicy bean sprouts they offer. The only issue is the pricing: £14.9 for the Hakata tonkotsu ramen, but you only get two slices of chashu pork. If they either lowered the price slightly, or included a marinated soft-boiled egg, it would definitely be more appealing to local residents and attract more repeat custom.

5 /5 A Leung: I ordered two ramen combos — the Dan Dan noodles and the prawn noodles. Both were served warm (just the right temperature) and tasted amazing! The prawn noodle soup was rich and full of flavour, and the Dan Dan noodles had a nice bit of spice. The ramen egg was perfect — soft-boiled with a creamy yolk that blended so well with the broth. Staff were super friendly and welcoming too. Really enjoyed the meal and would definitely come back again!

5 /5 Claire: We were lucky enough to visit Betsetunjin Ramen this evening on their opening day. Ive eaten a lot of ramen and I must say the broth was one of the richest and tastiest I have ever had in the UK. Had a nice chat with a staff member who explained that all the ingredients are sourced from Japan to make the Hakata ramen in the traditional way. The menu is small at the moment and obviously the restaurant is still finding its feet but Im already sure its a great new addition to Suttons food scene.

2 /5 Vanessa: We walked past and had to try! We love ramen and it was a cold day so perfect place for lunch. The service was excellent and the welcome when we opened the door was great. Open plan and you can see into the kitchen. The table is made from bottle crates and the stools have a little pad in them to soften the seat. Feels like sitting for street food but inside. Very nice touch. Liked it very much. Free tea and water. The tea was very watery and not sure if this is usual. We have had Japanese food before but not cold tea. Glad we tried it anyway. As I read the reviews before, I wanted to try the spicy ramen. The Dan Dan meal. The meal came with lobster salad or Gyoza (pork) and as we were ordering the same meal, we got one of each. Absolutely loved both. Fresh and delicious The chef came out to ask if they were hot enough which was strange but we kind of liked to be asked. The ramen was not too spicy, there were condiments on the table to add extra spice but we wanted the dish to speak for itself. Plenty of egg, cooked as it should be with a soft middle. The pork was rather fatty but that could have just been my experience. It works out just under £50 for 2 people without extra drinks; just the water on the table. A little pricey for a ramen meal but it was very tasty. Not sure if I will return as the price was more than expected. Parking is difficult but there is a church nearby that is £6 for 2 hours
