GAILs Bakery Richmond - (Near Richmond upon Thames, South East)

2 /5 Raed Jibrail: Coffee is overpriced — paid £4.30 for a latte (the most I’ve ever paid in Richmond). Nothing special and was too hot. If you get alternative milks it’s even more! . And god forbid you’ll get a smile from the Barista or even acknowledged. The atmosphere sucks — Had to clean my own table before sitting down. Many of the other tables were dirty with rubbish on the floor. The place has the vibe of somewhere unloved. Won’t be in no rush to come back.

1 /5 A Theo (Foodie): I visited this location over the weekend with my family and, unfortunately, we left feeling very disappointed. We’ve always appreciated Gail’s for both the quality of their products and their service, but this particular branch really fell short. When we arrived around midday, it was fairly busy, but the tables were cluttered with dirty crockery and the food display was nearly empty. There were very few options left, and it didn’t seem like any fresh items were being prepared, despite the ongoing foot traffic. To make matters worse, we had to clean our own table, even though there were several staff members behind the counter — none of whom seemed inclined to assist, as they were more focused on chatting among themselves. We were already let down by the limited food selection, but the coffee made things worse. Despite asking for it warm, it was served boiling hot, with a bitter and burnt taste that made it undrinkable. This experience has not only put us off this location, but has also made us hesitant about visiting other branches. Management really needs to step in and address the service and quality issues here.

3 /5 What you need to know!: Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️☆☆ Food: Bakery/Pastry/Coffee Mid size chain of ‘bakers’ selling pastries, soup and coffee. Some locations sell a more diverse range of breakfast options. It’s over priced but consistent. They do however need to maintain the tables and loos better. They’re simply not kept clean enough. What I liked: • Reasonably well stocked • Reasonable service • Fairly decent quality ingredients What I didn’t like: • Baked items should be more covered and less exposed to people coughing and sneezing so close • Prices are too high for what you get • Not enough low sugar items on offer • Not enough staff to clean down the tables Do I recommend going? MEH Will I go again? PROBABLY Was it good value? NO Price Point: $$

4 /5 Jack Morris: First time visiting this gails. The interior is nice, and had a great selection of fresh pastries. The croissant was very nice! Coffee was made well. Toilet and customer seating places were well maintained, but my main issue is with the woman that served me. No smiles or eye contact, made me feel like a burden coming in to place my order. At least the person who gave my coffee was nice enough to give me a smile and wished me to enjoy my day. Please work on this! If you are charging such premium prices then your service needs to match it!

2 /5 Monotrade Limited: service is ok. girls nice there to help. but food is old. i am not saying all but some like cinnamon bans very very old. plenty homeless outside once can give eft over. if one sale something for such a high price, then should be reasonable fresh good luck
