Gina Restaurant - (Near Lewisham, South East)

2 /5 Gee Angelo: From the moment we sat down, we felt rushed. We were asked for drinks while still taking our coats off and then pressed to order food twice, despite asking for a moment to decide. During service at a nearby table, a sparkling wine cork popped out and hit one of our guests on the head. No one checked if she was okay or offered an apology. Service overall was poor and unprofessional. Staff were wearing visibly dirty uniforms and were overly casual, leaning and serving food over us, which felt uncomfortable. To add to this, the toilets had no hand-drying facilities at all, no paper towels and no electric dryer, which is unacceptable from a hygiene point of view. The food was overrated for the price. The Roquefort salad contained barely any cheese, although the artichoke soup was good. Gina’s signature pasta was disappointing, with an acidic, undercooked tomato sauce, and it was served in a cracked dish with no offer to replace it. The £98 steak advertised as 800g turned out to be a T-bone, with a large proportion of bone and not enough meat to share. Portions of other pasta dishes were very small. The ox cheek and beef tartare were the only highlights. Overall, this was a two-star experience. For the prices charged, both food and service fell well below expectations.

4 /5 Thao Dang: Overall a good experience. Service was great and we had a nice meal (fish was the best dish) however there’s nothing I would order again and no dish felt complete / whole on its own. I would come back and try it again due to the lovely service and seasonal menu.

5 /5 Johann: I visited this restaurant with a friend and we had a fantastic evening from start to finish. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. The food truly stands out from other places in the neighbourhood, every dish we tried was exceptional. You can really taste the creativity and care that went into crafting the menu, with diverse, unique, and beautifully balanced flavors across the starters, mains, and desserts. A wonderful dining experience all around, highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be back!

5 /5 Sinthu Gokul: I have been looking forward to visiting Gina restaurant a long time now. The food was flawless - especially the pasta/ the roasties and the chocolate cake. I wasn’t a huge fan of the orange yoghurt cake but that was just personal preference and having eaten the best part of 3 other puddings I think I just didn’t have enough space left! Service and general vibe was outstanding. The kids loved it too. The pecan pie was probably the best I have ever had. Ravi’s chocolate cake was also a must have- top tier!

5 /5 Oliver Eva-Griffiths: Loved it! We had tartare and the crepe to start. Mallard to share from the board for main and the chocolate cake to share for dessert. Plus a bottle of the red from Puglia. The table was probably the worst one, right by the door in the middle, so it was cold and everyone kept walking past. However, the food was absolutely delicious! The duck special was brilliant, generous portion and a great mix of flavours. We will definitely be returning!
