Lydia Restaurant - (Near Lewisham, South East)

5 /5 Kristina Gudeikiene: Lydia Turkish Restaurant is a lovely place with very nice food. Everything we tried was fresh and tasty. I’d also like to mention Melisa, a Lithuanian girl working there — she is very kind, friendly, and works really hard. Her service made our experience even better. Highly recommended!

1 /5 Mags Williams: Bad Food and Bad Service! I was very disappointed as I was recommended by my family friend that has been there 3 times and has always enjoyed the food. We were waiting over half an hour before we had to call for someone to take our order, as they were more concerned with servicing other customers, not even drinks were offered at that point. The restaurant was not busy when we arrived. We even had to ask for the complimentary Turkish bread and dip. At different stages they had to be reminded that we were still waiting for our drinks and food which they had seemed to had forgotten We had to wait a further 20 minutes for the drinks and the complimentary bread and dips to arrive. When we finally received the bread and dips, the dips were flavourless, and tasted nothing like it should have, in fact was very bland. When the food finally arrived 30 minutes later, the food was extremely oily, tasteless and salty to the point of unpalatable. I asked the waitress if she can inform that restaurant manager that I would like to speak with him so I can express my concern regarding the level of service and the quality of the food. When the manager arrived at the table, I informed him of my disappointment with the food. The restaurant manager accused me of having an agenda from the time we arrived complaining about everything. I told him Ive been to many Turkish restaurant and never have been treated that way. I told the manager that I feel he should reduce our bill. I did not say I didnt want to pay. He then went and got the machine without first providing us with the bill for us to know how much we have to pay, literally throwing down the machine on the table and say "pay your bill". I told him me and my friend is sharing the bill. He then said to me, if you dont pay the bill, I will call the police i told him I did not refuse to pay the bill, my friend will be back in a moment and we will pay the bill then. The restaurant manager approached my friend, if we can pay the bill now because he wanted to call the police on me because I complained about the quality of the food. We will not be returning to this restaurant again as the quality of service was extremely poor.

4 /5 Mioara Bunduc: The food was superb. Very tasty , well flavoured. Really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is more of a lunch cafe rather than a diner restaurant. Nevertheless, we really loved the food there. I’d love to have a place like that for lunch nearby.

5 /5 J L: SERVICE IS TOP NOTCH! We were really surprised by the level of detail the waiter had. We ordered the platter for 2, had free salad and bread, onion and tzatziki to start. Food was flavourful and well seasoned. We were asked if we wanted refills which I ordered an extra salad. When the platter arrived, we asked for bulgur only which did not disappoint, however at this point we were quite full already. The meat was marinaded to perfection, juicy, bouncy, good quality and fresh. We packed a container at the end and was offered some free Bakalava. Cant say no to it! I was packing the sauces to my meats and the waiter gave me new garlic and chili sauce in a little pot to take home instead. We were impressed and left behind a good tip. Will definitely go again.
