5 /5 ali kurshat altinsoy: Mangal 2 restaurant is one of my favourite places to eat in London as well as beyond. an institution in East London with fantastic cooking, great service and wonderful vibes. i have been a regular for years and have never not had a terrific time here - a must-visit in my opinion.

5 /5 Ben Birss: Wa wa wee wa - been on the list for a long time, wish we’d gone sooner. Everything was 10/10 - we did the set menu and everything was absolutely delicious. So well thought out and brilliant, things like fermented olives with the fish and the smoked grapes with the lamb ribs just elevate everything. Will definitely come back.

5 /5 Zubair Shehraz: Came here for dinner on the recommendations of some friends and did not regret my decision. Really good authentic Turkish food which really scratches an itch. The menu is quite extensive and there are many grilled meat options which take me back to the ocakbasis of Istanbul. The smells coming from the kitchen were so enticing! I ordered the Adana kebab which was nicely spiced - really delicious. All the salads were super fresh and complimented the main dish. I really cannot fault it at all. Excellent dinner rounded off with some lovely Turkish tea which come in the traditional tulip shaped glasses. Without doubt, I can say that I will be back. Five stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

4 /5 Jasmine: We had this on our list as a place to try for a long time. Unfortunately after having authentic Turkish food in the area over the years, this place paled in comparison. I had hoped for a very tasty elevated Turkish experience. Instead it was overpriced, good but not great food with hints of its Turkish roots. The lamb ribs were the star. While there were only 3 for £18.50, they were very tasty with the sauce and grilled perfectly. The chicken main (“whole poussin”) was pretty good too. Very hot off the grill when served. However, the lamb neck over (I think) creamed barley was not great at all. The meat was shredded and quite rich which was made it very heavy because it just room temperature at best and not seasoned well. The barley risotto was literally cold. We could barely finish the dish. The hummus was just okay. Tasted like too much tahini was in it, and not balanced. It was £9.5 then you had to pay at least £3 to get any bread (pide) with it! And the pide was tiny. So I guess if you’re on a budget you’re meant to have a hummus starter and eat it with a fork or a spoon. We ordered 2 pides to have the hummus (one special cull yaw fat one for £5) and a regular one. So almost £20 on hummus alone! However, I will the service was really good. And the restaurant itself it well appointed and bright. Overall almost £100 for a decent to okay meal. My suggestion is try a traditional Turkish mangal that are nearby. Much better food, more of it and almost half the price.

4 /5 Amanda: We did the tasting menu. Most dishes were great except for the hummus which had a super strong acidic taste to it which made it unpalatable. It was also fairly difficult to eat the leaves themselves of the vine leaf sarma although tasty filling inside. The best dishes we had were the cull yaw kofte, courgette müever, stone bass and the star of the show the halka tatlısı with mountain tea custard + candied mulberries for dessert.
