Mista Lova Lova - (Near Berkshire, South East)

H L-J Ive been eating at Afghan Flavours, Reading for circa 18 months now. I was introduced by my sisters friend and have kept coming back on my own, with a my sister or in small groups. Its very reliable, tasty, fresh and hot food. Family friendly. Very reasonably priced for the quality and freshness. You can see the kitchen from the counter too. Other reviews mentioning service speed need to show some patience. Freshly cooked and prepared food takes time and this is an increasingly popular establishment. I would describe as cafe style eating. Whether its the Channa Daal, Houmous, halloumi, chicken byriani, Qabuli chicken/lamb, chicken/lamb charsi karahi, Afghan style red kidney beans, Chaplin kebab paties, chicken or lamb or mixed tikka or lamb kofta - I recommend all. For drinks would recommend mint or green tea (loose tea) or mango lassi (glass or jug) or a fresh juice. I prefer to eat in, but take away is also available. A friendly and hardworking team. Sandie-Roy Gastardo Me and a few co-workers decided to have lunch here together. Its always a good experience to cook some Korean bbq and this place didnt disappoint. The meat was seasoned well so it tasted great. There isnt much space in their restaurant, but their staff was quite helpful with making space for everything we ordered.

g t Genuinely the best service I have ever received in my 23 years of life, loveliest couple owns the place and they made me and my mum feel very at home. Bear (their puppy) was a nice surprise as well, he’s our new best friend. The food? Nothing I ever eat again will compare, I will just have to accept that and return there as often as humanly possible. The chef deserves all her flowers, the dishes taste more home cooked than the food I cook at home. Already planning my next time there ☺️☺️☺️☺️

In Reading Rob (Rob in Reading) We hald our annual committee get together here on 6th January 2026. A really great place for good quality and value food and drinks. The table setting was first class. Our waiter was very attentive and our party of ten got exactly what we ordered. Well worth a visit.

Paul Davey What a friendly atmosphere! The staff were brilliant. Sister Wish made me feel so welcome during Iftar! I had Nihari which was cooked to perfection….thick gravy,no oil….just beautiful and bursting with flavour! The portion size was huge! Wish also made the best Karak Chai! I’m definitely looking forward to making this one a regular of mine!

Dhanu Prashant (PD) The front-of-house staff (Parya and Ermioni) were friendly and welcoming. We loved their mixed grill — definitely a must-try.
