Peking Inn - (Near Berkshire, South East)

5 /5 Rosh C: Our favourite Chinese restaurant (by far) in Berkshire, situated in the beautiful town of Cookham a walk away from the National Trust Cookham Marsh. The food is great, very reasonably priced and the service is good. They do get very busy so make sure you book tables ahead of time, especially on weekends. This isnt your usual greasy takeaway spot, its a proper restaurant (that also offers takeaway) with ample seating for larger parties and authentic tasting food. Highly recommend.!

5 /5 eCho Zz: The food was excellent—less oily than typical Chinese dishes sold in the UK—with tender, flavorful meat, very hot servings (just the way I prefer), and ingredients that tasted genuinely fresh. The portions were generous, and each dish was well-seasoned without being overpowering. It was reasonably priced too. The staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and attentive throughout the entire evening, creating a warm and comfortable atmosphere. The restaurant was clean, and had a pleasant relaxed vibe, that made the experience even better. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and I will absolutely be returning. Highly recommended!

5 /5 Jane Oldfield: I cannot recommend Peking Inn highly enough. The food was amazing, so fresh and delicious - wow, the fried squid was amazing and special mention for the crispy shredded beef, best I’ve ever had. Welcoming atmosphere with a real buzz. The staff were all attentive, smiley and chatty. Huge shout out to Pam who made our evening so special. First time here and it will definitely not be our last. Can’t wait to return. *****

1 /5 Mimi: ​As someone who is Chinese, I was really looking forward to a high-quality meal here, but the experience was incredibly disappointing. We left hungry and actually had to go somewhere else to eat immediately after. ​The "Crispy Beef" (£11): This was the biggest letdown. It was essentially just crispy batter fried on more batter. I actually had to break several pieces apart to inspect them—there was no beef to be found and absolutely no beef flavour. For £11, charging that for fried flour is unacceptable. ​Flavour Profile: The other dishes we ordered were incredibly bland. There was no depth or authentic seasoning; everything lacked punch and flavour. ​Portion Sizes: Very small, especially considering the price point. ​If you are looking for authentic Chinese fine dining, this isnt it. Save your money and go elsewhere.

2 /5 Andrew Ramsbottom: Just been for a meal here and sadly it was very disappointing. We have been eating at this restaurant for decades and it has always been excellent however I have nothing positive to say about the meal this evening. We had a set menu - the starters were dry and clearly pre-prepared and warmed up, the duck was dry, the pancakes were dry and rubbery and one of the three main courses (sizzling beef) tasted of nothing but grease. Im sorry to have to write this review but the meal was absolutely terrible and nowhere near the previous high standards. Great service.
