2 /5 rave cake: THEY DID NOT MAKE FRESH ESPRESSO FOR OUR COFFEE! Pleasant couple of lads that run it, there was nothing wrong with the service. We ordered two ice lattes. Expected to hear the sounds of their expensive La Marzoco machine at work but NO - they took out a refrigerated flask clearly full of PRE-BREWED espresso and poured shots of that into the milk! Iced lattes ready in 15 seconds, just like that. As youd expect, coffee taste was full of that oxidised, stale flavour you get from cold brews and the like. DO NOT come here expecting freshly brewed espresso. No idea why the reviews are as good as they are - or maybe they pick customers who look none the wiser and think they can shuttle out shots from these pre-made batches to forego the hassle of making fresh (like any other self-respecting coffee shop would?). No explanation, not even a crowd of people that might have warranted the pre-make. Shouldve called it out as soon as I saw it but was too stunned at the time - but the taste confirms it. Do not recommend!

5 /5 Sutapa B: A beautiful cafe next to Bethnal Green Station. Dont be fooled by its unassuming exterior because they do make excellent foccacia and sourdough. I am very picky about my coffee and always ask *and support) artisan coffee. Therefore on my visit I did ask if they serve artisan coffee and my heart sank a bit, when they asked me what that meant. Nevertheless, I gave in to my craving and thought Id risk it as long as they didnt say it was some kind of Italian chain brand. And I must say, I did not regret it!! The coffee was excellent. The cafe was clean and tastefully decorated and a clear favourite of coffee lovers. The staff are friendly and go the extra mile to make customers happy! I had left my bag and totally forgotten about it, when the barista came running up behind me down the street to hand over my bag!
