5 /5 Explorer: First of all, although the name says “Beefeater,” it’s absolutely not just about beef. The menu has a great variety of options for everyone. On this visit, I tried the veg lasagne and the butter chicken with naan — and both dishes were fantastic. The veg lasagne was honestly one of the best I’ve ever eaten. It was perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and had just the right balance of cheese, sauce, and vegetables. You can really tell care goes into the preparation. The butter chicken was also very well cooked and tasted delicious. It was slightly on the sweeter side for my preference, but it was still rich, flavourful, and enjoyable. The naan paired beautifully with it, making it a very satisfying meal overall. For dessert, I had cake with ice cream, and it was absolutely awesome — a perfect sweet ending to the meal. They also have a good selection of drinks available, and the unlimited refills on soft drinks are a great bonus. I also found out they offer unlimited breakfast for just £11, which sounds like amazing value. I’m definitely planning to go back soon to try that! On top of the great food, the vibe of the place was really nice — relaxed and welcoming. The hospitality was excellent, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout. Overall, a wonderful dining experience. Highly recommended, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was attentive and genuinely friendly throughout the evening. ​To kick things off, we decided on a sharing portion of the nachos, and they were a perfect choice. Often, nachos can be overwhelming or undersized, but these were just right. A generous pile of crisp tortilla chips was loaded with a delicious melted cheese sauce, vibrant salsa, creamy sour cream, and a good amount of chillies and spring onions. Each bite was a satisfying blend of textures and fresh flavours, a fantastic way to begin our meal. ​For the main course, I opted for the Chicken Skewers, a decision I did not regret. The chicken was cooked to absolute perfection—succulent and tender with a beautiful char from the grill. It was coated in a subtle yet flavourful marinade that was truly amazing, complementing the natural taste of the chicken without overpowering it. Served with perfectly seasoned fries and a fresh side salad, it was a complete and highly satisfying dish. ​My wifes choice, the smothered Chicken melt, was equally impressive. The presentation alone was enough to get us excited, but the taste truly delivered. A juicy chicken breast was piled high with melted cheese, all brought together with a tangy BBQ sauce. The ingredients worked in harmony, and every forkful was met with a chorus of textures and a rich, smoky flavour. We were both thoroughly impressed with the quality and execution of her dish. ​Beyond the food, the service was a standout element of our visit. The staff were efficient and personable, ensuring we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Their genuine care for our experience made the evening even more enjoyable. ​Overall, the combination of fantastic food and excellent service makes The Spruce Goose Beefeater a place we would highly recommend. It’s an ideal spot for a relaxed and delicious meal, and we can’t wait to go back.

1 /5 Dan Harris: Its not great. The staff are the best thing about this place... We were a family of 6 and the food we got came out burnt an cold. Apart from one of the kids meals. One meal in 6 came out hot... initially we were served pretty quick but we tried to call 3 different people just so we could pay the bill. The people we did speak to were friendly but you could tell they were under stress. Staffing issue maybe? But the main things the food. I gotta be honest, I can cook better at home and Im no chef... It was horrible. Maybe we will come back and try again because it may have been a staffing issue but yeah.... it was not good.

5 /5 Elaine Ramsdale: Left it late to book so was advised by the hotel we might have to wait, but the lovely man on the door found me and my 5 year old granddaughter a table straight away. It was really busy and the staff team worked so hard where nothing seemed a problem. Morgan served us and she was fab. Chatty, attentive which made our night. Perfect host. Thank you.
