Taste of Pakistan (Tooting) - (Near , South East)

4 /5 Razaul Hoque: I recently visited Taste of Pakistan in Tooting and had a very pleasant experience overall. The restaurant was nice and clean, and it was reassuring to know that all the food served is halal. The highlight of our meal was definitely the Charsi Lamb Karhi, which was full of flavour and cooked perfectly. The Charsi Lamb Chops were also fabulous and thoroughly enjoyable. We did try the Afghani Tikka, which unfortunately didn’t quite suit our taste buds, but this didn’t take away from the overall experience. We also ordered chicken nuggets and chips for a child, and the portion size was very generous, which was great to see. The restaurant felt child-friendly, and the prices were fair and reasonable for the quality and portion sizes offered. Overall, a good dining experience with some standout dishes, and I would happily return again.

5 /5 mckenzie907: Wow. I have seen some of the negative reviews on here about this place and it has become clear to me they are HATERS as described by the owner in the responses! I ordered lamb chops, chapli, and wings home via ubereats my lord As you can see i left nothing but the bones! Amazing amazing fresh and tasty you could see how fresh the tomatoes chillies were in the chapli kebab! Owner is right 100% to tell his truth! I nearly believed all these fake comments! 10/10 grill!

4 /5 Bisma Ikram: The ambiance was nice, very spacious and clean specially if you are coming with your family and big group of friends you’ll like the sitting. They also have a Baithak setup presenting our hospitality vibe. I ordered chapli Kabab, the portion was good enough to fill put tummies and it was fully cooked perfect level of spices and the ted chatni which they serve with these kebabs was yum. Then we ordered Sindhi Biryani again the portion was good and it was yummy, chicken was fully cooked and tender. One thing I’ll say I’ve tried many Pakistani Restaurants here and when you order nan they get cold and hard in seconds but their Nan was so soft I personally don’t like if we’re fighting or chewing too much so 10/10 for Nan as well. I also ordered drinks and when I saw the bill i was actually surprised because It was only 24£.

Let me start with the food, because the kitchen staff deserve recognition: • Peshwari naan – 5/5 Huge, fluffy, and perfectly cooked. • Mixed grill flavour – 4.5/5 Beautiful seasoning, smoky, well-marinated — genuinely enjoyable. However, for a “large” mixed grill priced at nearly £40 (before Uber’s automatic 50% discount), the portion was extremely poor: one seekh kebab, broken wing fragments, and uneven scraps of chicken. The flavour was excellent, but the value and presentation were not at the level expected in Tooting, where other restaurants offer far more for less. Based on food alone, this would have been a solid 3-4 star review. But this is a 1-star review because of what I found in your public responses to customers. The real concern: discriminatory and abusive replies After ordering, I read through your Google review responses. What I found was genuinely troubling: • Fat-shaming customers • Homophobic language • Insults about people’s appearance • Hostile reactions to reasonable, polite feedback This is not “defending your business.” This isn’t “being funny” or a “Karen’s diner” vibe. This is discriminatory, abusive conduct from a restaurant speaking to the public. Tooting is a diverse, welcoming community. There is absolutely no place here for a business publicly shaming, mocking, or discriminating against customers — especially using language that borders on hate-motivated behaviour. Final thoughts… Your food shows real potential. Your public behaviour is indefensible. I strongly encourage you to remove your abusive replies, stop using discriminatory language, and treat customers with basic respect. If your future responses — including to this review — show professionalism and courtesy, I will happily reconsider the rating. A diverse community like ours deserves far better than this. Do better.
