The Pear Tree - (Near Lewisham, South East)

4 /5 Gemma K: A nice neighbourhood Australian style cafe serving great coffees, cakes and matcha at the bar, surprisingly co owned by a Malaysian Chinese lady, Tze May; Matt is the other Founder of the Pear Tree. Todays matcha was really good and the monkfish with salad and sriracha sauce was really tasty! The cherry pistachio cake was fantastic and not overly sweet. Food is fresh and always well presented, glad that after quite a number of years in business The Pear Tree is still maintaining their high standards. Shoutout to Mr. Stefan the restaurant supervisor and to Miss Truyen the Barista who made the experience comfortable and memorable! The restaurant is convenient to get to for locals in Canada Water (who dont need a car of course) and is a hidden gem in our community! They also sell really cool dried flower bouquets that I bought for myself, I have given mini ones to friends too but they are delicate! At the bar they do sell cold drinks, Australian snacks like Arnotts, Ground Coffee for Coffee Machines and wines and pantry stuff. Got some Salsa Brava and Tortilla Chips! Also, staff are all super friendly and chiller than Plough Way which makes for a cosier dining experience!

5 /5 Hannah Jary: This was mine and my partner’s first time at Pear Tree and we absolutely loved it. We came for breakfast and shared both the kimchi eggs on milk bread, swapping the scrambled eggs for poached and the apple and walnut pancakes. Both were so delicious and freshly made. I accidentally ordered a flat white instead of a flat white with oat milk and when I asked to swap it wasn’t an issue at all. When I checked the receipt I was only charged for one which they absolutely did not have to do. The staff were lovely, the atmosphere and music were great, the food was delicious. I’d definitely recommend for a breakfast stop.

4 /5 Leaburn: Quite a buzzy place given it’s tucked into a new apartment block. Crowd is very middle class brunch type. I was looking forward to sampling an Aussie menu but next to nothing on the menu appeared to have obvious Australian links. Anyway, I tried a glass of white from Oz, so that will do (it was nothing special). Tried the Dan Dan noodles which were very tasty and surprisingly filling. Enjoyed it. Service was fine but once plate cleared no one approached the table for twenty minutes which is just odd. Price was reasonable as the food is of a decent quality.

3 /5 Anastasia Гончаренко: It’s a decent place overall, but unfortunately not one I would return to. We had to wait quite a long time for our order, and the place was very noisy, which made it hard to relax and enjoy the meal. My breakfast was served on an excessively thick slice of bread, which really spoiled the overall impression for me. My partner ordered one of the burgers. However, as this place seems to be more suitable for brunch, I wouldn’t recommend coming here expecting anything outstanding from the dinner menu.

5 /5 AJ Zorrilla: This place is amazing. Everyone I go to London.. I HAVE to stop there. Breakfast, like the avocado toast or the sweet corn pancake are delicious. Great ingredients, very well put together, definitely a place to keep coming back. Thank you!
