5 /5 Jamie Stewart: Everything you would expect from a Sussex village pub. Good food, quaint interior, and friendly locals. Nice large beer garden. Visited on Saturday lunch time. Called in the late morning to book a table. Was told, no need they won’t be busy. Plus they don’t take bookings. Got there to discover the place was packed, inside and out! (Maybe they should consider bookings for inside table, if that is an important for some customers). As it was the weather was nice, so sitting in the beer garden was nice. The food was excellent. Tasty steak and kidney pie. Good seafood salad. Very reasonable prices. Only marked down the service because the actual bar inside is small, and on a busy day it took a while to be served. But the service was friendly. Will definitely be back. Maybe on a week day!

5 /5 Mandy P: This idyllic little pub should be on the top 10 in the whole UK! It is everything a traditional English Country Pub should be. Food that we will definitely be returning for, puddings so traditional they take you right back to your youth at every bite and an excellent balanced selection of starters. We shared the mezze starter, I had a chicken and mushroom pie with fried new potatoes. Huge chunks of chicken in the pie! My partner had the ham hock which the meat just fell effortlessly off the bone and was seasoned to perfection followed by a treacle sponge and a current sponge both with custard! If the food isnt enough to entice you, then the cosy roaring crackling fire, great prices, large hot portions and calm ambience must do it! (it was Tuesday lunchtime one cold January day) Not to mention the ever so kind and polite landlady :) I cant rate this place enough and so pleased we stumbled across it and plan to return soon!

5 /5 Megan Oliver: Lovely traditional country pub with all the pub grub classics. Good food, good value, friendly staff. Live band on Saturday evening too until midnight. Lovely atmosphere!

5 /5 Stephen Lockyer: Top five pub, and worth the journey. Filled with classic pub ephemera, but also welcoming to strangers. The menu is full and incredible value. Portions were hot and generous. No phone signal, and all the better for it. I love this pub.
