What Clients Are Saying Alaowerri Restaurant and Bar (GG)
4 /5 Akoessiwa Ogundoju: For authentic isi-ewu, nkwobi, ugba and stockfish...etc and other African dishes, visit here. The owner, Uncle Joe, is very nice and makes sure customers are well attended to. His prices are also very good. I will visit again for sure.
2 /5 Aderonke Ojo: Service was good but food was unfortunately not there at all, the moinmoin was soaked in salt, the amala felt like water until we sent it back but they were kind enough to make another amala which was better. The price was a bit on the high side.
5 /5 Mfon Umo: Really great Nigerian restaurant. Space is small so plan your visit against/ahead of peak times. The food is delicious and the owner is a very nice and friendly man. The service is great and I will definitely be coming back. The isiewu in particular is amazing! Honestly, the food there is really good.
5 /5 Chiamaka Udeh: I’m hard to please when it comes to Igbo soups but Alaowerri surpassed my expectations. I ate Oha soup with poundo yam. I’ve never eaten Oha soup this good in London. Also got beef suya from here. The suya was so tasty.
The food portions are huge.
The guy who attended to us was warm and friendly too.
I love the ambience in the restaurant as well.
I’m defo revisiting.
Kate McRae Have ordered a few takeaways from Tarka Express on recommendation from a friend and it has never disappointed. Had family over for dinner last night and we all thoroughly enjoyed our food. Unlike many indian takeaways, the lamb here is so tender, not chewy at all -just delicious. Good value for money and some different dishes on the menu also. Delivery can take a while when busy, but honestly worth the wait. My only thoughts were spending over £80, it would have been nice to have recieved a complimentary side dish or something. Other than that it was top marks from us!
Dee A cheeky work lunch to celebrate a recent promotion. Service (Louis) was impeccable, food delicious and a beautiful little surprise at the end that made us both cry. Great value all round
Natalie Walker Had the most wonderful evening with family at Le Secret Garden. This is a real gem hidden in the beautiful village of Great Halseley. The food off the Spring menu was delicious and the flavours and presentation was delicate and beautiful. I will most definitely be coming back to try the other seasonal menus.
Theresa Baker Brought my son and his family to visit so that we could exchange presents and eat together pre Christmas. The staff were superb and the food and atmosphere were fabulous. Would highly recommend this place.
