1 /5 JON WOODHOUSE: UPDATE - We decided wed give them one last chance to get things sorted, with our booking etc, so I booked a table for 2 a couple of days ago.
This time, our booking was honoured, and we went last night. The place was extremely quiet, with only another 4 people in there, but this did mean that we had an almost "one-to-one" service! The young lady who took our orders and served us was very pleasant, and enthusiastic! The food was actually lovely- we both had the tacos, which came with fries. They were really tasty, and very filling. The cocktails were also really nice, and obviously made with quality ingredients.
So after an initial bad impression, I have to say, we were both extremely impressed with the ARTISAN BAR AND GRILL, and will definitely come again!
Cant recommend this place as weve never been!
Not from lack of trying though.
I was given a voucher from the Price is Wight website for my birthday.
This entitled my girlfriend and I to 2 main courses and 2 cocktails.
I rang to book a table for February 14th (Valentines Day), and asked if we could use our vouchers, to which I was told "Yes".
I then received a phone call a little while later to say that the vouchers couldnt be used on that date, so I changed the booking for Friday 13th.
I then received an email a few days ago, to say that our vouchers wouldnt be able to be used for their Valentines menu, so I queried this, as we had changed the booking to the Friday.
The next email I received told me that while we could use our vouchers on that day, the chef would prepare a menu which was different from the Valentines one.
I replied that this was ok by us, and assumed that everything was sorted.
Today, Ive had an email to say that sadly, our booking had been cancelled, but they looked forward to seeing us on another occasion.
Followed by another email to say that they had experienced problems with their booking system, and that our booking was still valid!
Im absolutely disgusted with the lack of professionalism that these people display when it comes to taking bookings etc. and can only hope that this isnt an indication of what the standard of service is like, if you actually manage to make it inside!
Needless to say, weve cancelled our booking and wont be using our vouchers!
