5 /5 susan trickett: We cant fault this place. The occasion was a friends special birthday lunch for 14, held in the private dining room off the main restaurant. The meal was excellent, wed all pre-ordered & everyone was very happy. We stayed over in a delightful,spotless, comfortable room. The breakfast menu was varied & when served, was superb quality. Staff were obliging,efficient & friendly at all times. We would definitely go back.

5 /5 Gemma Sidney: We stayed here for a friends wedding for our base. What can I say amazing staff exceptional food and a lovely room. The little touches in the room radio and complimentary sloe gin robes and slippers. Fresh flavoured water complientry at the bar. Also a quiet room upstairs with again complimentary toothbrushes sewing kits and ear buds and a tipple of whisky if you fancy it! Would recommend a stay here.

5 /5 Catherine Maber: My husband and I stayed for a night and were blown away by our experience. The room was beautifully appointed with lots of personal touches such as relaxing music playing on arrival and complimentary sloe gin. All of the staff were genuinely warm and friendly. We booked in for an evening meal at the restaurant and food and service was great. The breakfast was equally generous and set us up well for a day exploring.

5 /5 GRANT: Well, I stay in quite a few hotels around England, and I have to say this will be put down as one of my favourites. You are treated so well, friendliest staff. The dinner was incredible, and the waiters made the evening pleasant and their food and drink knowledge outstanding. If I have to mention one thing, the rolled pork belly was amazing, and I will definitely have that again, fully recommend. My room was cosy a little disappointed I didnt get a bath but the shower was powerful and hot. I especially like the surprise complimentary gin in the room and the digital radio. The room was small but perfect for what I needed. This little gem it my home away from home.

5 /5 Angie Yuanmalai: We were completely blown away by the quality of the service, the rooms, and especially the food at Bel and Dragon in Churt. We regularly stay at five-star family hotels all over, and I honestly didn’t expect to find something that matched that level of quality and care at this price point, tucked away in the English countryside. The room was beautifully refurbished to a high standard, with thoughtful details everywhere — from the relaxing music playing when we arrived to the warm, genuine welcome from the staff. We stayed in the family room with bunk beds, which was perfect for our two young children and baby. The kids absolutely loved it and didn’t want to leave! The bathroom with the large vintage bathtub was well used by the children, they especially enjoyed the giant rubber duck that was provided by the hotel. Breakfast was plentiful, and the French toast is an absolute must-try. Dinner was another highlight — the menu features familiar classics but executed with real precision and creativity, using fresh local ingredients. Hats off to the chef. My husband and Mother in law are very, very French and we were all blown away by our meals. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the overall atmosphere was wonderfully cozy and relaxing. With so many beautiful National Trust sites nearby, Bel and Dragon makes a perfect base for exploring the area. I can’t recommend this place highly enough for couples or families looking for a charming countryside stay with outstanding food and fantastic value for money. A big thank you to Harry and the entire team for running such a lovely place.
