1 /5 Ayla: I have been to the Bills branch in London Bridge previously and it was a pleasant experience, however Victoria was very different.
I went yesterday and since it was Pancake day it was very busy. We booked in advance, but were seated quite rudely by the lady at the front desk. Our waitress came over and we ordered bottomless pancakes; I was excited for this as the last time I had them they were amazing. One thing that threw me off though was that I was told I was unable to order in advance for a friend who was running late, and our waitress strictly informed us that we were not allowed to share food with each other - I just found this a bit ridiculous considering we are the ones paying for the food. The wait was quite long, but wasnt a surprise regarding how busy it was. When our first plate came I had no complaints - tasty, warm and fluffy. However, when it came to ordering our second plate, that is when problems began to occur.
Me and my friend both ordered the savoury pancake day special - a stack of pancakes with hot maple chicken and streaky bacon. My friend requested to our waitress to have hers without syrup, and myself without bacon. As we waited and watched other people receive their pancakes, what we had ordered look very tasty. By the time we received our pancakes, it is safe to say I was appalled and frustrated. My friend had been given cold, undercooked pancakes with one strip of bacon and one small piece of chicken. Furthermore, I was given dry, cold pancakes with one piece of chicken and no syrup?! I thought maybe since I ordered no bacon I may have been given some extra chicken, but no. It was a disgrace to say the least. Both of our chicken pieces were cold to the touch and had no flavour whatsoever. I didnt eat my stack as I was extremely put off, but I knew it was at that point I wanted to leave.
As the bill came, we decided to pay for what we had. When the last person went to pay, we came to realisation that there was a £5 service fee - firstly, this is ridiculous considering that our waitress hardly served us to a good standard, and secondly this did not happen at the London Bridge branch. I am unsure if we were treated in such a way because we are under 18, but if we were it is unacceptable.
Lastly, after seeing their promotion for this limited edition stack on TikTok, I decided to post a photo of what we received in the comments. Not long after, the account took it down - this shows that surely they are aware it is wrong to be serving such appalling food to customers. It is safe to say I will not be returning to Bills in the future, considering this unenjoyable experience I had.
