3 /5 Honest Reviews: This restaurant is literally a copy and paste of a restaurant called L’mour Lounge. I went to L’mour almost a year ago and I had to look up the restaurant to make sure they haven’t rebranded that just goes to show how they look the same. Nevertheless, the ambiance was aesthetically pleasing, you’re starting to see more of this look in a lot of restaurants. It’s kind of like a standard look now, I can see it getting pretty old pretty quick.
We were first seated in a really awkward position, we were upstairs but seated beside the stair case to the upper platform. Behind us was another table and the waiters couldn’t even reach that table without one of us having to move our chairs. We asked to be move up into the upper platform part of the restaurant and that seating was much better.
They didn’t have 3 of the starters that were in the menu, which were what we all wanted. There was no Garlic ciabatta bread, BBQ chicken lollipops and no Momos. We ended up settling for the Dynamite prawns which were actually really nice, so we didn’t miss the BBQ chicken lollipops.
I ordered the Bullion beef burger which was £20. The burger didn’t even taste nice, I don’t recommend, you’re probably better off getting a pasta. For drinks I ordered an apple juice and that was £4.50. For dessert I ordered a brownie with ice cream, and let me tell you it was the best brownie I’ve had in ages.
They had a DJ called DJ Ladé, he was quite good and played a lot of good tunes. There was a fire dancer, which was very entertaining to watch. To be totally honest though the service was not great, our waiter was good but the service overall was bad.
I had to order my drinks and my dessert twice as they were both forgotten about on different occasions. Once I ordered, about 20 minutes would pass and they had brought everyone else their drinks and desserts. When I asked about mine they said that it wasn’t ordered, which meant I had to wait longer. Once everyone finished their dessert is when mine arrived.
We asked for 2 take away containers and they brought us 1, when we asked for a 2nd one it took us another 30 minutes just to get that. The staff were friendly, but they seemed overwhelmed and understaffed. I get that busy nights happen, but a little more communication would’ve gone a long way. They also put a £30 service charge on the bill.
I’m giving this restaurant 3 stars based on the aesthetics, the dynamite prawns and the brownie. The service definitely needs to be worked on, and making sure to put through all the food that has been ordered. Also to note the music was extremely loud for an extended period of time so it was hard to have conversations and for the waiters to take your orders.
