Ioana Chira This is such a wonderful place. We came for a walk to Viking Bay and looked for a place to eat. It looks even better than the photos and the atmosphere is friendly. They also have board games and I saw families with kids playing board games. Prices are reasonable too. We had a tapas mix, beer and a latte for less than £30. Staff is friendly and welcoming. They also have all sorts of different menus: vegan, gluten free. Big selection of items.

Rebecca Best What a great find, wonderful cafe. Great coffee and superb selection of freshly baked pastries, sweet and savoury. Pistachio croissant truly delicious. Bought take away feta & spinach pie and vegetable & feta pie both really good too. Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere with classy decor and comfy seating. We shall definitely be back. Thanks Amalie Caffe Bakery, you are easily the best in town.

Fabian Webb Brown Really enjoyed our breakfast at this unique ‘greasy spoon’ cafe. I got the vegan feast and added hash browns. I was very happy with what we got for the price we paid. And they didn’t charge extra for plant milk in my coffee! All the breakfast components were tasty, especially the mushrooms, the service was quick and staff friendly and welcoming. This is a lovely location with lots of character. The cafe is inside an arch and is long & thin inside, so space is a little limited - not a problem at all for us as we opted to sit outside and enjoy the harbour views - but worth noting for larger groups. That said it was reasonably busy when we visited but didn’t feel claustrophobic and noise levels were ok inside, and outside there was no real noise. It was warm but quite a windy day, the location was fairly sheltered so it was really pleasant.

Tristan Rowbotham Most consistent, accommodating eatery in town. Makes some of the best baguettes Ive ever had, it you are nearby and its quiet youve lucked out as it can get very busy, very quick. The meal deals are outstanding value. Almost feels like Canterbury has its own little French quarter and this little independent business adds to the City in more ways than just food, its a credit to the City.
