Sam Block and Bar is a great spot for quality food with a modern grillhouse feel. I had the mixed grill, and the meat was excellent – tender, juicy, and cooked perfectly. There’s a nice variety to choose from, and everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. Portion sizes were on the smaller side for a mixed grill, but the quality of the food really stood out.

Since it’s attached to a Premier Inn, you can get 25% off food as part of the room deals, and if you sign up, you also receive 25% off meals, which makes it much better value. I also tried the breakfast in the morning, and it was tasty, fresh, and a solid way to start the day.
Overall, Block and Bar delivers great-tasting food, a relaxed atmosphere, and plenty of deals that make it worth visiting whether you’re staying at the hotel or just popping in for a meal. A little more on portion sizes would make it perfect, but the quality and value balance it out nicely.
