Attended for a Christmas meet-up with other members of the Havering Gingerbread (single parents support charity) group. Just the five of us on this occasion, and all ladies.
I’d not been to a Ciao Bella for over 20 years, so no idea what to expect, but was thinking it would be like most restaurant chains, with average prices and small portions. How wrong I was!
Yes, average prices, but the portions are huge, making this much better value than a lot of places. Food was really tasty too. I had the baked Brie to start (£9.95) and Alfredo Fungi (£13.95) as my main, accompanied by two, well made, Mojitos (£10 each). Everyone else’s food also looked great and was reported to be very tasty.
The restaurant itself is nicely laid out, easy to access and has plenty of seating. Can be crowded with tables and chairs, but if attending in a wheelchair things can easily be moved around to accommodate.
Marks lost for the corridor to the accessible toilet having high chairs stacked in it, which would make it more difficult to navigate, but in general, a good venue with great food and decent service - even if the male staff seemed distinctly unimpressed by our merriment and riotous laughter!
