2 /5 Romuz Uddin: I visited Kebabish Restaurant in the Plaistow area (E13) on Sunday, 18th May 2025. I’ve passed by this restaurant many times and was always curious to try it, but never had the chance until now.
After spending nearly 20 minutes searching for a parking spot, my friend and I were finally able to park and head inside, quite hungry and looking forward to some biryani and curries.
Unfortunately, the dishes displayed behind the glass counter immediately put me off. The biryani looked old and unappetising, while the curries appeared greasy and as if they had been sitting there for days.
We decided to skip the main dishes and opted instead for double chicken sheek kebab rolls, as they didn’t have any lamb kebabs available.
The chicken sheek kebabs were a big letdown small in size, seemingly pre-cooked, and lacking flavour. To be honest, I couldnt even tell it was chicken. The rolls were bland and tasteless, which was very disappointing given how much I was looking forward to the meal.
The only positive part of the experience was the service the staff member who served us was friendly, respectful, and welcoming.
That said, food quality is key, and this restaurant seriously needs to improve on that front. From what I saw, the food looked like it had been stored in the fridge for days before being served. Based on this visit, I don’t think I’ll be returning to try any other dishes.
