The Butchers Block Pub - Kent
Allison Eason We visited as a family of four, for the first time and had a lovely experience. We received a very warm welcome, not just from the staff but from the local customers, who clearly frequent the pub often and are very passionate about the village and their local pub. It was such a pleasure to share their stories.
The food we had was fantastic! The scotch egg starter was a delight, as were the scallops. Our steaks were beautifully cooked and the sauces we added were lovely. We also had the carrot cake cheesecake and the chocolate tart for dessert, both were excellent. The cheesecake is not as you would expect it to be. It is deconstructed and a softer texture than you would usually have but my husband said it tasted lovely and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was great throughout. We visited on a Saturday and hadn’t booked but ate late afternoon and so we were able to get a table for food but if going at busy times you have to book in advance as it is very popular. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely be returning in the future.
