2 /5 Leaburn: A few minutes walk from the O2, located in a soulless high rise residential area, is this one standalone pan Asian restaurant. Parking is available roadside but at ÂŁ6.40 for two hours, it adds a ridiculous tariff to the meal if you are driving here.
The atmosphere inside is low volume, relaxing music but there were no other diners. Decor is neat and today but again, a little soulless.
The food options are quite plentiful but mainly rice dishes top the menu. We tried spring rolls which are apparently home made. They were fine but I was unsure if from a packet or really home made.
The main dishes of Taiwanese pork and Kung Pao chicken were bland. The chicken was too dry and main dish so you need to add a lot of soy sauce to get proper flavour. The pak choi was just boiled, it had zero flavour so again I had to whack on the soy sauce to get anything out of it. This is pretty basic stuff.
For two of us, sharing a starter, two main dishes and no drinks came to £33 but with parking (not restaurant’s fault) it was £40 for a pretty low key lunch. They do takeaway too but there are far better Asian takeaways locally.
I won’t be returning as I think it’s pretty poor value. Service was fine. Just too much of a meh, forgettable experience.
