3 /5 Romuz Uddin: I visited Eyva Turkish Grill and Meze Bar today with a friend during our lunch break. We were both quite hungry, so we decided to give this place a try.
We were welcomed by friendly staff, which gave a nice first impression. We ordered the share platter for two, along with some juice and water. While waiting, we were served bread with hummus, yogurt, and chili sauce a thoughtful touch. The bread was fresh and paired very well with the dips, and the accompanying green salad was also quite good.
About 10 minutes later, our main dish – the chicken share platter – arrived. Initially, I was excited, but my enthusiasm faded a bit when I saw (and felt) the food. The platter wasn’t served piping hot as I expected. The doner on the platter was actually cold, and overall, it seemed like the food had been pre-cooked rather than freshly prepared. I believe a hot, sizzling platter would have made a big difference in the experience.
Taste-wise, the food was decent – not bad, but not memorable either. For the price, I felt the portion could have been more generous. It seemed the food was made in a rush, without much attention to detail.
Overall, I’d say it was an “okay” experience. Hopefully, next time the food will be served hot, fresh, and with a bit more care and love – because the potential is there.
