5 /5 Alexander Brede: On Route to the Royal Albert Hall, Notting Hill is where you change busses and maybe have a little snack, real authentic Italian food.
Pizza you can get everywhere, however, those little treats you can find on the "appetizers to share" page of the menu make the difference to other places: there is more than just bruscetta & salads, there is a variety of stomache pleasers ;) - for Autumn / Winter, I recommend the Pumpkin Fried Pizza - fresh notes of pumpkin, solid filled pizza bread - share with your best friend or enjoy 4 on your own.
Potatoe Croquette was a mouth pleaser - enjoyed them with the garlic souce to dip and plenty of parmesan on top.
If there would ve been more time, I would ve taken a Pizza, but had to Catch a bus.
For service: A young gentleman served me that evening and hmm, it was not his best shift. The ordered espresso did not come "express" (less than 2 minutes are expected), but rather late, cold and bitter.
I asked the italian lady for the bill (conto par favore) and at first, all things, including the espresso and Service Charge (!) were on the bill. The boss asked, if everything was alright, saw the (still full) Espresso and said: I know - I will tell him (the waiter), you wont pay for that, let me fix this! Limoncello?, she asked.
The bill was adjusted, Limoncello, icecold, as it is served in italian Tradition, brought to my table and I paid, exchanging some italian with the boss.
It must have been one of the first shifts of the young gentleman and I am Sure, theyll fix things at a decent moment behind closed doors to meet expectations.
The boss was polite and kind and thank you - the food was perfect, really enjoyed it - service will be improved and as a result: my recommendation for a little healthy and delicious "break" in London.
