the berrylands

The Berrylands - Kingston upon Thames

Jennifer keane On Friday 19th September, we held the wake for my dads funeral at the Berrylands in Surbiton. From the first point of contact to the end of the event, the manger, Dean, was excellent. He made the whole procedure easy and trouble-free. The food was the perfect amount, served at the perfect time. The staff were exemplary, friendly and efficient. The entire day went off without a hitch. The room was private, with an outdoor seating area included. We were able to play our own music, and set up a table with flowers and photo books for family and friends to view. A room was available where the flowers could be stored overnight and collected the following day. Nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend this venue for any event.
galvin la chapelle

Galvin La Chapelle - Tower Hamlets

Sarah H We went to Galvin La Chapelle for the lunch tasting menu. It was a beautiful restaurant with a warm and stylish decor. The bare ceiling made it especially interesting and a contrast to the aesthetic of the rest of the restaurant. It looks like it may have been a church. The staff were very attentive and explained each course. The food itself was very interesting with a mixture of flavours and textures which were delightful. I would love to return to try their a la carte menu. Overall, a very pleasant lunch.

Frank Food taste is ok, nothing special, not the worst either. Portions are absolutely tiny, not even suitable for a child. Very very stingy. You literally need to order 5 mains per person plus 3 starters per person to feel satisfied. You probably need to spend £130-150 per person in order to have a normal sized dinner. Not justifiable as the food is not fine dining. If you want fine dining go to Gymkhana (before the owner tells me I dont know proper food, I have had Gymkhana, which is more like fine dining). Service is reasonable though, the lady was attentive and friendly. Wouldnt go again as not fantastic taste and portions are suitable for a 1 year old baby rather than an adult. Shame as I was expecting more from a place that claims to be authentic. Ultimately didnt order more as the food was sub-par.

Mahesha Rice We had a wonderful brunch at Riverside Cafe Bar and absolutely loved it! Both kids and adults were really happy with the food... there’s such a great variety of options to choose from. The smoothies were incredible, so fresh and delicious. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the view of the river from the windows made it even more special. A lovely place to relax and enjoy good food. Highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
