5 /5 Riley G: One of the most authentic Hunan (Xiang) restaurants I’ve had in London — a real hidden gem in Isle of Dogs.
We ordered straight from the classics and everything tasted freshly cooked, no pre-made flavours at all. The claypot pickle chilli frog legs were outstanding: tender, clean, and deeply aromatic with proper Hunan heat. The Changsha stinky tofu was exactly how it should be — crispy outside, soft inside, and boldly savoury.
The stir-fried aubergine with green peas was smoky and well-balanced, great with rice, and the braised pork with guabao came rich and glossy without being greasy. Even the sweet corn and Thai jasmine rice were done properly, which says a lot about the kitchen.
Portions are generous, flavours are unapologetically bold, and spice levels feel true to Hunan cuisine rather than toned down. The environment is lively and relaxed, and there’s even KTV, which makes it perfect for group dinners.
If you’re craving real Hunan food in London, this place is absolutely worth coming back for.
