3 /5 pmqgw t: I’m honestly unsure how to rate Freak Scene.
First off, the booking experience was terrible. The booking website was down so I called the restaurant, then told to text my booking request. I did so immediately, received no response, followed up, received a response two days later, then asked one query. Which, you guessed it, never received a response.
Our reception at the restaurant was OK. The waiters/waitresses were brisk and not entirely welcoming….. one woman reminded us multiple times throughout the meal that all table could only be occupied for 90 minutes (meanwhile, we ordered and ate so quickly that we did end up leaving early). From the booking experience to paying the bill, we felt like more of a nuisance than a paying customer.
The saving grace here was the food. We ordered a sharing set menu, which was sublime. Every dish was special and high quality, with wonderful depth of flavour.
Did the fabulous food make up for the otherwise bad customer service experience? I’m honestly not sure.
