2 /5 Stuart Watt: I recently ordered a takeaway from Giggling Squid, and unfortunately the food quality seems to have declined compared to what it used to be.
In the past, their curries had a much more authentic Thai flavour, with traditional ingredients and well-balanced recipes. This time, however, the curries were filled with lots of small green vegetables and other ingredients that didn’t seem typical of the dishes I’ve previously had there. The result was a very different taste and texture, and not in a good way.
The starters were still very good and clearly well prepared, so credit where it’s due there. However, the main dishes were disappointing enough that it has put me off ordering again for the time being.
If the menu and recipes returned to the quality and style they had before, I’d happily give it another try, but based on this experience I’m not sure I’ll be ordering again.
