2 /5 R Gardiner: This was a last minute change because it was close to us & the initially intended restaurant was closed on Tuesdays. My sister & her husband were travelling the next day, so it was a treat for them & my son.
The "buffet" was not what we were accustomed to: you have to order food for it to be cooked & brought to you, as opposed to you going to a food stand to select from a selection of already prepared food.
The starter platter with spare ribs, spring rolls, prawn-deep-fried bread with sesame seeds & seaweed was ok. The starter with prawn balls [x2 served] & spare ribs was not great -they lacked in presentation & taste. The second starter with duck & pancakes was ok.
The main course was the main let down: the egg-fried rice barely had egg in it; it also had no taste to it. The curried chicken sauce was initially full of mushrooms -could not see chicken so I asked for it to be changed. The same was brought back with pieces of boiled chicken placed in it. To my horror, there was no taste to the curry, chicken or any of the vegetables in the curry.
Our selection for the main course was so bad we could not order any more food, because there is a threatening message that you would be charged £5 for every wasted plate! As a result, we had to consume the tasteless main course & could not think of enduring any more food from this establishment.
For a price tag of £127 for water, green tea & "buffet" meal for 4 to end up so horribly, I thought it through before writing the above.
I am certain the host will remember our occasion, because the couple we met dining had left before our main courses arrived so we were the only diners left on that Tuesday night on March 3, 2026. There were no other diners as we were leaving.
I sincerely hope the restaurant will review their seasoning for the dishes mentioned, because they dropped their guard in our case.
