3 /5 Edward Cullen: Im a local.
Went in for the first time on 21st Nov 25 .
Ordered pizza, chicken mushroom dish
and flat white.
Interior is modern and spacious. Warm.
Toilet room is unheated so freezing cold.
Sensor taps, water temperature was good from memory, powerful hand dryers.
There was no toilet paper in the toilet paper dispenser, and only a half used roll of regular toilet roll placed on the windowsill.
As there was only 1 other table during my visit the first time, which is when I used the toilet, this wasnt an issue. Had it been busy, the roll would have run out.
More attention needs to be paid to making sure the dispenser is not empty .
No one came to ask me how my food was, and no one asked how the food was when I made payment.
Chicken was perfectly cooked.
Sauce too runny but tasty. So runny I had to ask for a spoon. Tasty though.
Potatoes were underseasoned.
Spinach had a nasty taste to it.
Pizza was pretty bad. Heavy, dough probably not fermented for long, cheese maybe overcooked. Very chewy crust. Probably low hydration dough too. In fact thinking about it, I doubt they ferment it at all. And theyre probably not using good flour.
Flat white tasted bad. Burnt and bitter.
Seeing as I enjoyed most of the chicken dish, I went back again on 23rd Nov 25.
Ordered the chicken mushroom dish again, but asked for the sauce to be made thicker.
Also ordered spaghetti dish with meatballs and decaf flat white.
The sauce wasnt thick enough still. Getting the sauce thickness right needs to also take into account water evaporation after the dish is served to the customer as water evaporates from a sauce spread out across a plate with time.
So it cant be too thick, but shouldnt be too thin.
Despite evaporation, sauce was too thin.
Chicken again perfectly cooked.
Spinach tasted good this time. Maybe a tiny bit overcooked.
Potatoes a tiny bit underseasoned but better this time.
I enjoyed this dish, its tasty. But it requires a little refinement.
Spaghetti a bit overcooked, only by a tiny bit.
Sauce a bit lacking in flavour.
Meatballs are delicious. Herby and yummy.
I wasnt asked if I want anything once the spaghetti was put down in front of me. Which I should have been. Instead she hurriedly left.
However unlike my previous visit, this time, the waitress came over and asked if everything is OK some time later. I asked for Parmigiano cheese which she brought over and sprinkled on top.
Good portion.
Decaf flat white was amazing. Loved it. Beautiful crema that was tasty.
Not sure how they messed up my coffee last time. It wasnt decaf last time but that shouldnt matter.
Table was wonky. Tables and chairs while visually appealing are low quality.
Ill be back. Hopefully its not a place where the food is a hit or miss at times.
Would recommend based on my last visit. Service needs a little improvement.
Pizza however, I wouldnt recommend from here.
Decor and lighting are nice.
Lights on Christmas tree were flashing like crazy during my first visit which was just annoying.
I love the indirect lighting features throughout the restaurant. Brass diffused circular wall lights and cove led strip lighting.
The space is very big and open, reminding me of cafeteria dining.
Some may like this others may prefer a more secluded private feel.
I personally dont mind. Both times I went, there werent many guests so it was nice and quiet.
Second time I went the music was too loud, but the waitress turned it down at my request.
Theres no soft furnishings, with the floor being a hard surface too, so I can imagine it gets very loud in there when its busy, as Ive read from other reviews.
For the location, the interior is nice. If you want more upmarket youll have to travel to London, Maldives, etc.
Not a fan of the service charge being automatically added to the bill, requiring you to ask for it to be removed if thats what you want.
Glad we finally have a good place to eat. Theres very few of them in the area.
Update.
I went back to eat twice again. Both times the chicken dish hasnt been good. Especially the last time.
