What Clients Are Saying Heart of Balham - HOB (GG)
5 /5 M Y: We had an amazing time at the heart of Balham today. It was a perfect place for us to unwind after rushing around during a busy afternoon. The food was so fresh and made to such a high standard. My omelette was absolutely amazing, the shakshuka was the best we had tasted. Our late lunch was so satiating that we didnt need to even buy dinner later (helped us to save money too hehe). The tap water came with ice that was refreshing, and the English tea was made so well it smelt aromatic. The staff were accomodating, welcoming and friendly too. I was blown away by my experience. I highly recommend.
5 /5 Faaris Hussain: Honestly the best breakfast I’ve had in Balham. Portion size is WELL worth the price too compared to some of these other pocket places trying to charge £15 for undercooked eggs on some toast.
I had the Mediterranean breakfast and it came with everything I could have dreamed of! My girl had the veggie breakfast too so super accommodating to the vegetarian’s. Big up HOB!
5 /5 Lauren Penzer: The HOB is a lovely place to go for breakfast, lunch, or even a cheeky coffee. The staff are warm and welcoming, and very helpful with anything you need. The food is extraordinary, with a lovely variety and plenty of alternatives for gluten-free and dairy-free. Will definitely be back, has a perfect location.
5 /5 SamM&TheHonestReview: Absolutely delicious fried breakfast with a whole array of other options on the menu too. Delicious coffee and matcha coffee. Friendly service and a calm refuge from the busy street outside. Also very fair prices. Highly recommended.
Darren A. Smith Popped in to buy a sandwich. The woman behind the counter (scraped back hair) was very polite, welcoming and friendly. Excellent service.
Cani Seb We found an excellent Thai restaurant at Ramsgate town. The food portion was served generously and fast. Staffs were friendly. We finished with the authentic Mango & Sticky rice dessert, it was perfect. Totally recommend this restaurant. Thank you.
Yuen Shum I havent been to Italy, but loved Italian food. In all the Italian restaurants Ive been to this is on top of my list, foods are absolutely amazing. And its my local. Little family run business. Owner are very accommodating even when we didnt do bookings. But recommend if you go at weekends, cos it can be very busy. All the dishes we had so far was so delicious, they also have daily specials so dont forget to ask on the day. The first time we missed out the Arancini but we had it on the 2nd visit. It was devin.
S K Genuinely the best samosas Ive had from a shop, very fair price and they have a constant queue of people ordering which shows how great they are. They freshly fry them and able to do big orders i.e. i ordered 20. Their gulab jumans are so tasty aswell. Even in 2025, i was surprised that theyve kept their prices fair and i hope they dont change. Its a gem in Southall! Its one of those places that could go famous on tiktok because of it being so authentic
Only improvement I would say is when we order, if we are given an order number so they can call the number out when ready for collection - otherwise its hard with all the other people who ordered similar things
Marius Reutas Great Shell stop, friendly staff, had a great chat with Shakemore, nice selection of hot food, including vegetarian Cornish pastie, all the best!! ⛽
Stephanie Muringu This is my second time eating at woodfire kitchen. I live in west London and travelled all the way to get this food! The staff are lovely and the owner is generous and caring. I ordered jerk chicken, curry goat, lamb patties and peppered prawns. I couldn’t see peppered prawns on the menu so I called ahead of time. The owner was more than happy to go out and buy some prawns for me. The prawns were in this coconut spicy sauce and it was so delicious! The jerk chicken was juicy. The curry goat was tender and flavourful. I would definitely come again!
