3 /5 Jack: Mixed feelings.
Food was nice, appropriately price (with the caveat below) and fresh, sashimi was good quality. Had the experience not been a bit weird, it would have been great.
Only people in the place, no service staff the cooks just kept popping out VERY infrequently.
Another couple came in mid meal and were sat next to us. We were told to sit anywhere, then guided to sit right next to the kitchen - they obviously didn’t want to come out and serve people. We were not given a drinks menu, when the people behind us order drinks we realised there was one, asked for it, went to order and was told the bar was closed? There’s no bar in there, and they served us anyway, I don’t quite see what their problem was - it was 7pm.
For the fact there was no one else to serve, the food took ages - they brought out all our hot food first, all of which had quite obviously been sitting around as none of it was actively hot, no longer crispy, and the tempura was a waste of money as it was not served fresh after being cooked - a cold hollow shell of batter.
The caveat on the price is that we paid £96 for what you see in the pictures, which had the experience been lovely we’d have been more than happy. Based on the experience we had, I would not return. Go to the food market around the corner and have a much better experience at a third of the price. I would order as a takeaway, but nothing hot.
This place exist to serve takeaway, they have zero interest in customers visiting.
The front door is also broken so everybody thinks the building is locked and knocks, and there is a massive noise every time someone enters because they have to smash the door. It’s a very unpleasant dining experience.
