5 /5 What you need to know!: Overall: ★★★★★
Food: Indian/Bengali
This is not five star food, nor a five star set up BUT it is well worthy of the clean sweep as the service is lovely, the food overall really good and clearly a privately owned business you want to see do well. Enough of the chains already.
Jaflong is a local, hole in the wall style set up off the beaten track of any high street. Having been told about the food being really good it seemed fitting to venture over from our corner of SW London to try it out. If youre going for the decor or location forget it - but if you want really good food, generous portions and extremely friendly, engaging service then go. You will not be disappointed. The menu comprises of all the classics youd expect at your local curry house and a few more.
The plates are hot and wiped before being set down which is a nice touch along with chilled water. The chutney tray isnt some tiny metal pot but a lovely china tray with four of your usual favourites to enjoy with hot, fresh crisp papadums whilst your food is being prepared. Every so often youll see the kitchen doors open and catch the flames and bustle of their busy kitchen. There is no doubt about the freshness. This place has a really busy delivery service so its only possible for fresh food to be served from here. Their 5 stars on Scores on the Doors further evidences it.
