1 /5 Dyani A-B: I usually collect my food from here but I decided to order using Just Eat. I called the restaurant to ask about a pepper sauce but before I could finish what I was saying, the phone was abruptly passed to another colleague. It seemed like the woman who initially answered did not want to deal with my query and instead of politely letting me know that she was passing the phone, I was speaking to a man. I repeated my query and I was rudely told that they were not able to meet my expectations because an additional fee was required. I know that usually, choffi (turkey tail) comes with a pepper sauce and when you have to pay an additional £1.50 for the dish, it would be courteous to at least adhere to the customers wishes. Seeing as I was paying £17 for a £10 order, I was quite shocked but I was understanding. I asked if they could cancel my order, which they stated they were unable to and I was also unable to via Just Eat. So I waited 45 minutes after this call … for them to cancel my order anyway.
This type of service is not favourable and I would like to make the kind suggestion of improving customer service over the phone especially. Maybe the woman who answered the phone in the first place should not answer phone calls if she is not able to communicate with respect or simple decency. At the end of the day, I am a paying customer and I did not speak to anyone in any way that they didn’t appreciate so it’s not nice to be on the receiving end of that for zero reason besides wanting pepper sauce.
I highly doubt that I will be ordering from this restaurant again because rude customer service is never acceptable. All I wanted was to enjoy the food with a little extra spice!
